As the summer internship season comes to a close, our New England interns recently gathered for their final presentations, sharing insights into their projects, their responsibilities, and the lessons learned over the summer. Working across water and transportation infrastructure projects throughout the region, they gained experience in construction while contributing to work that improves our communities. Their presentations highlighted not only what they accomplished, but also the leadership, initiative, and passion they would bring to a future career at Walsh. We are proud of their contributions and look forward to seeing what comes next. #WalshAtWork

Greetings from the Washington Bridge, with views of the rebuild in Providence, Rhode Island. Walsh Construction and crews are currently installing steel casings that extend approximately 120 feet to bedrock, creating the foundation that will support the new bridge, and RIDOT officials state the project is currently ahead of schedule. Walsh Construction is leading the design-build effort to replace the westbound span with a new bridge designed for a 100-year service life. The project will include five travel lanes, a new on-ramp and off-ramp, and other improvements aimed at enhancing mobility along one of Rhode Island's most important transportation corridors. Glad to share the news that the new headworks facility at the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission's Southeast Treatment Plant has been named a Best Project in the Water/Environment category by Engineering News-Record West! Built by the Sundt Construction-#WalshConstruction Joint Venture, the $718 million project replaced two aging headworks facilities with a new all-weather system capable of treating up to 250 million gallons of wastewater per day. Our Wisconsin interns take a look back at a summer defined by growth, connection, and experiences that extend beyond the jobsites. The arch installation is now complete above the DART Silver Line bridge in Richardson, Texas! Archer Western recently set the second of two 400-foot steel arches spanning above US 75, marking another significant project milestone. Rising up to 80 feet alongside the bridge, the arches create a distinctive gateway for travelers entering the city. #ArcherWestern DART (Dallas Area Rapid Transit)

Sometimes the best solutions come from a simple conversation between teams. ⏩ While working on two very different projects in Chicago, Walsh Construction teams spotted an opportunity: furniture being removed from the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place renovation could help furnish the newly renovated Franciscan Outreach shelter. After coordinating a visit between Franciscan Outreach and the Hyatt project team, items were identified that could serve a meaningful purpose in the newly renovated shelter. Last week, more than 20 members of Walsh Construction's Midwest Building Division volunteered their time to load, transport, and deliver 120 mattresses, 84 pieces of artwork, 84 side tables, 48 office chairs and eight sofas to Franciscan Outreach. We are also grateful to Advantage Moving & Storage, Inc. for donating their services to help make the effort possible. This was more than a donation. It was a reflection of what can happen when people across projects stay connected, work together, and find creative ways to benefit the communities where we build. #WalshAtWork

Walsh Construction achieves another milestone at the Morris Forman Water Quality Treatment Center with the final baffle installations in the North Reactor Tank. The team is also advancing air system, concrete, structural, and site work across multiple areas of the biosolids processing facility project. This new facility will modernize how the plant processes solids through advanced treatment technology, upgraded electrical and control systems, digesters, and supporting infrastructure. Projects like this bring together construction professionals, engineers, and craft workers to solve complex challenges and deliver essential water infrastructure that communities rely on every day.
