The SPS-Walsh Joint Venture has been making progress at the Newton-Weston Bridge Replacement Project. Construction of the three bridges that carries traffic from I-95 to I-90 Eastbound is now substantially complete and open to traffic. Crews are now preparing for the demolition and removal of the existing bridges and ramp. Crews have also completed bridge deck placements for this phase of construction on the I-90 mainline bridges. Work is now focused on installing the cast-in-place median barrier in preparation for shifting I-90 Westbound traffic onto the new bridge. This traffic switch will allow crews to demolish the existing westbound bridge and begin the final phase of construction. #WalshAtWork SPS New England, Inc. Walsh Construction was proud to be the general contractor for the multi-million-dollar renovation of the Lakeside Suites at The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago. The project spanned 26,000 square feet and updated 26 suites with a modern aesthetic influenced by the city's skyline and views of Lake Michigan. For the third consecutive year, our Southern California team partnered with the organization, donating 500 backpacks and a large collection of school supplies to help students prepare for the upcoming school year. The Long Beach Rescue Mission provides shelter, education, recovery programs, and supportive services to homeless women, children, and families throughout the community. Walsh Construction crews on the Guadalupe River Bridge Project in San Jose, California, recently completed placement of the cast-in-place deck and bridge curbs for the future Caltrain MT1 (northbound) track bridge, an important step in advancing the structure toward track installation. The project is replacing the 1935 MT1 timber bridge, which has sustained damage from multiple fires, with a new 265-foot concrete structure designed to meet current railroad structural and seismic standards. Once complete, the bridge will help strengthen the reliability and resiliency of this important rail corridor. #WalshConstruction Caltrain #BridgeConstruction

Walsh Construction is delivering the SFO Recycled Water System Project through a progressive design-build partnership that supports San Francisco International Airport’s goal of becoming a net-zero water campus by 2030. The program includes a new advanced water treatment plant, PFAS removal demonstration facility, 250,000-gallon storage tank and pump station, and a recycled water pipeline and distribution system that will expand water reuse across the airport. Beyond the infrastructure itself, the project demonstrates the strengths of design-build delivery; bringing the owner, designer, and builder together early to coordinate complex work, manage construction within an active airport environment, and align project goals from planning through execution. When complete, the system will provide up to 1.5 MGD of recycled water capacity, support reductions in potable water demand, and improve water quality outcomes. Our New York interns recently toured the Battery Coastal Resilience Project in Lower Manhattan, where they heard firsthand from project leaders and saw the work underway to strengthen The Battery against rising seas and future coastal storms. Interns also headed to Citi Field to catch a New York Mets game and spend time getting to know fellow interns and team members outside of the office and jobsite. Experiences like these help our interns build industry knowledge, expand their professional networks and make the most of their summer with The Walsh Group.
