O Canada, we’re still singing it! 🇨🇦💙 Following Thursday night’s historic home opener at the new Highmark Stadium, we’re sending another message of goodwill across the border to our Canadian neighbors. For the first time at a Buffalo Bills regular season game, “O, Canada” was sung before kickoff, celebrating a connection between Buffalo and Southern Ontario that goes far beyond sports. In May 2026, Visit Buffalo put up billboards in Southern Ontario with the message “O, Canada, We Meant Every Word. Love, Buffalo” after a microphone malfunction before a Buffalo Sabres vs. Boston Bruins game resulted in the entire crowd at KeyBank Center pitching in to help sing the Canadian National Anthem. Now, new Visit Buffalo billboards along the Gardiner Expressway, Highway 427, and the Canadian side of the Peace Bridge are carrying that message north: 🎶“O Canada, We’re Still Singing It. It’s an opportunity to capitalize on a major moment for our community and showcase the energy, character, and hospitality of Buffalo and Erie County to viewers across the country, reminding them there's plenty here worth experiencing long after the final whistle. Our newest visitor resource is hitting the trails! 🥾🌳 Today, Visit Buffalo joined the Erie County Department of Parks, Recreation and Forestry to at our Visitor Center at Canalside to officially launch the Buffalo Hiking Guide. The digital guide showcases 10 memorable hikes across Erie County and Western New York, complete with detailed trail information, photos, planning tips, and walk-through videos created in partnership with Lauren Yakiwchuk and Justin Ceksters of OntarioHiking.com. The guide builds on strong interest in hiking content on VisitBuffalo.com, making it easier for visitors and residents to discover the outdoor experiences our region has to offer. 31 countries, 46 states, and one shared love of wings! 🍗🌎 The 25th National Buffalo Wing Festival brought thousands of wing fans to Sahlen Field this year, and the Visit Buffalo team was there to give them a warm welcome. Throughout the weekend, guests stopped by our mobile visitor center activation to pin their hometowns on our maps, helping us track just how far people traveled for this iconic Buffalo event. By the end of the festival, we welcomed visitors from 31 countries and 46 U.S. states! 😮 A big thank you to our volunteers and Certified Tourism Ambassadors for helping us welcome thousands of visitors, and kudos to our Destination Experience team, especially Sarah Barker, Willie Schult, and Patrick Cippollone, for making our presence at this event such a success. The impact of tourism adds up! 📈 New data from Tourism Economics shows that visitors spent $2.73 billion in Erie County in 2025, an increase of 2.8% over the previous year. That spending supports local businesses, jobs, and communities throughout Erie County, with more than 30,000 people employed in tourism-related professions across the region.
