240,000 of the most vulnerable refugees in South Sudan could lose lifesaving food and nutrition assistance as soon as the end of September due to critical funding shortages. Hunger is deepening in South Sudan, and refugees are among those being pushed closest to the edge. More than 7.8 million people across the country are facing acute food insecurity, including hundreds of thousands of refugees who fled war and hunger in search of safety. Many families are already eating fewer and smaller meals, borrowing money and selling what little they own to survive. Meanwhile, up to 3,000 refugees and returnees continue to arrive from Sudan each week. South Sudan has kept its doors open to people seeking safety while facing a severe hunger crisis of its own. Without urgent funding, refugees and the communities hosting them will be pushed even further to the brink.

What happens when misinformation offers false hope? In Ceuta, Spain, a misinterpreted court ruling spread across social media, leading thousands to believe that reaching the territory by sea meant they could not be deported. Ceuta is a reminder that misinformation does not stay online. It can have real, life-threatening consequences. Decades of conflict have forced millions of Afghans from their homes. For many, neighboring Iran became a place to seek safety, work, education, and community. Now, as instability grows across the region, many Afghans are being forced to move once again. For those returning to Afghanistan, going home does not necessarily mean finding safety. It can mean facing debt, food insecurity, limited work, and an uncertain future. Learn more about how conflict is leaving Afghan refugees with nowhere safe to turn at: https://bit.ly/3S8zybt

Haiti’s crisis is not over, yet 330,000 Haitians are now being stripped of their TPS status. Amid widespread blackouts, escalating gang violence, limited access to healthcare, and severe food insecurity, hundreds of thousands of people could be forced to return to a country facing an ongoing humanitarian crisis. Keep Girls Dreaming. Keep Girls Learning. Back-to-school season is here. But for thousands of refugee girls, a lack of access to menstrual hygiene products can mean missing school altogether. Each day missed is another day of learning lost and opportunities put on hold. Every child deserves to walk through a classroom door this year. Being displaced once is life-changing. Being forced to start over again in a country you've never lived in is cruel. Third country deportations occur when, instead of being returned to their country of origin, people are deported to a country where they have no family, no community, and no meaningful ties. They are then left to navigate new uncertainty while trying to rebuild their lives. Learn more about third country deportations and explore USCRI's Third Country Deportations Tracker at https://bit.ly/3QlfmSH
