Incorporated in 1958, United Counseling Service (UCS) has worked to provide Southern Vermont with nationally recognized community-based services for children, adults, families, and seniors with the goal of helping people improve their quality of life. Services provided include counseling, outpatient substance abuse counseling, early care and education, clinical support and more. UCS is home to Bennington County Head Start.

Thank you to the Stratton Foundation for generously supporting United Counseling Service with a grant for Camp United by Uniqueness, a summer camp for kids offered through our division of Children, Youth and Family Services CYFS) in the Northshire region! This camp is held in the Northshire every summer and offers fun and enriching experiences for kids age five to 12 years old. This summer, camp includes field trips to the zoo, Hildene Farm and an indoor rock-climbing facility, as well as horse riding and grooming at Kimberly Farms, and participation in Chickens for Change (C4C), a group for elementary through high school aged youth offering life and business skills through raising and selling chickens and eggs. Thank you to the Stratton Community Foundation for their dedication to the well-being of children and families in our community and contributing to this beloved summer camp in the Northshire! The Stratton Community Foundation is a community-based nonprofit devoted to caring for the well-being of families across Southern Vermont with a vision to help children focus on their education and set them on a path to success and economic independence.
