Herbicide resistance is one of agriculture's quietly growing crises. Farmers have relied on the same chemicals for decades. Weeds adapt. The chemicals stop working. And most of the proposed solutions just add more chemicals to the mix. Kenny Lee saw this problem after spending an entire growing season working on a small organic farm. His answer was to go back to the oldest tool in farming - a weeder Aigen built a fleet of autonomous robots that do nothing but cultivate. Their machine, called Element, runs entirely on solar and wind energy. It stays in the field for the whole growing season, working every day, sleeping on the farm at night. Each robot is responsible for 20 to 40 acres. It moves through the rows, mechanically removing weeds without a single drop of herbicide. As it goes, it scans the field and feeds data on pests, disease, and crop health back across the network. 50 robots are already in the ground, working sugar beet farms in North Dakota. The patent position behind Element is not built around a flashy new material or a complex AI architecture. It is built around a very old insight applied in a very new way. Sometimes the most defensible IP is the kind that makes people ask why nobody thought of it before. #Innovation #AgriculturalTech #Robotics #Patents

Patent management simplified. From idea capture to grant, with data you can act on.
About us
Triangle IP turns patent chaos into clarity. We help innovation teams and IP managers capture ideas, manage their ideas, and predict which art unit the patent will land in. Analyse which patent attorney to hire. Get examiner statistics. View your entire patent family tree. All in one tool. A single place where R&D, legal, and leadership align on what to protect, when to file, and whom to trust with the work. What we do: -Idea Capture: Two-minute invention disclosure forms any R&D team member can use. -Idea Manager: Any inventor on your team submits an idea in minutes. No legal background needed. You always know exactly where every idea stands, instead of chasing an answer over email. -Collaborate: Real-time brainstorming and vetting across distributed teams. -Track: Visual pipeline from disclosure to filing to grant, no status emails required -Predict: Art unit forecasting and examiner analytics before you file -Analyse: Prosecutor performance data to hire and manage outside counsel with confidence -Visualise: Auto-updating patent family trees for board reviews and portfolio strategy Who we serve: Deep-tech startups and scale-ups (11–200 employees) building their first 25–100 patents In-house IP teams at growth-stage companies (200–5,000 employees) managing active portfolios with small internal teams IP law firms needing defensible, presentation-ready family trees and examiner insights for clients Why Triangle IP Tom Franklin spent over twenty years as a senior partner at Kilpatrick Townsend and Stockton, sitting across from companies building real patent portfolios. He saw the same two problems repeatedly. Great ideas were getting lost. Buried in spreadsheets, scattered across emails, forgotten in Slack threads. And once a case was filed, companies had almost no visibility into what happened next. No examiner-level intelligence. No way to adjust strategy.

TIP Tool
Intellectual Property (IP) Management Software
Say goodbye to complex IP management. The TIP Tool™ by Triangle IP is an idea, and patent management platform built for innovation-driven tech enterprises, IP law firms, universities, researchers, and individual inventors. Designed by patent attorney Thomas Franklin, who has over 25 years of experience in IP prosecution, the TIP Tool™ addresses the inefficiencies he observed first hand. Promising ideas often get lost in email threads and spreadsheets, disclosure forms remain incomplete, and teams lack a clear way to prioritize, track, or manage a growing patent portfolio. From idea to filed patent, the platform covers the full lifecycle. It includes idea capture, internal vetting, patent drafting, portfolio management, prosecutor and examiner analytics, cost predictions, and automatic USPTO status updates, all in one place. A small company with grand ambitions, focused on democratizing patent mining with transparency, simplicity, and deep learning.

Most buildings sit atop free energy, and people walk through them without thinking. Enerdrape looked at the same spaces and tapped the geothermal energy source. Their innovation is geothermal panels that attach directly to the walls of underground spaces. No drilling. No excavation. Connect them to a heat pump, and they pull thermal energy from the surrounding ground and convert it into heating and cooling for the building above. Their innovation’s impact is clean energy in Paris; 145 panels supply energy for 72 homes and cut 23 tons of CO₂ emissions every year. In short, the infrastructure already existed; they just found a way to make it work harder. #Innovation #Cleantech #Patents #DeepTech

American agriculture is going through its biggest change in a hundred years. And almost nobody outside the industry is talking about it. So we set out to find the most interesting agricultural innovations happening in America right now. Every single one is doing a job a human used to do. Here is what we found. In Nebraska, a father and son built a small robot that walks on top of stored grain. It cleans out silos so no one has to climb inside a bin. That job used to kill farmers every year. The company is Grain Weevil. They won the 2026 Davidson Prize. PTx Trimble built a kit that turns your old tractor into a self-driving one. You do not have to buy a new machine. You add their kit to the tractor already sitting in your shed. Back to back Davidson Prizes in 2025 and 2026. Pyka is building electric crop dusters that fly themselves. No pilot. FAA approved. Day and night. 2025 World Ag Expo Top 10. FarmWise (acquired by Taylor Farms) built a weeder that can see. It walks through tomato fields and knows which plant is a weed and which one is food. Then it pulls the weed and leaves the crop alone. 2025 World Ag Expo Top 10. Carbon Robotics made a tractor one person can supervise from a laptop. From anywhere. All night if they want. 2026 World Ag Expo Top 10. Boson Motors USA built an electric farm vehicle that changes what it does depending on what you bolt on top. Hauler in the morning. Sprayer by lunch. Charges from a regular wall outlet. Six companies. Six machines. We were coming back to one thought. Farming has always been the hardest work in this country. Long hours. Dangerous jobs. Fewer young people willing to do it every year. These machines are not replacing farmers. They are finally giving farmers a much needed break. #Agriculture #Innovation #AgTech #FutureOfWork

Most idea management tools only solve 1/3 of the equation. 💡 They either capture ideas, help you rank them, or track them, forcing IP managers to stitch together spreadsheets, PDFs, forms, and email threads to fill the gaps. As an IP manager or an inventor if this relates to you watch the video. #IdeaManagement #InventionDisclosure #IPManagement #Innovation

Which patents to keep/abandon? When a batch of patents is coming up for renewal, the traditional internal process is usually a mess of scattered links, misaligned emails, and unrecorded opinions. We believe that collaboration should live exactly where your data does. As shown by Tom in our latest walkthrough, the TIP Tool simplifies patent committee reviews into a single, seamless digital loop: Share the Pipeline: Drop the exact cases up for renewal directly to your patent committee with a unified set of links. Complete Context: Committee members can instantly review everything from structural family trees and patent application PDFs to predictive cost metrics and upcoming maintenance fees. On-Page Decisions: Instead of chasing decision-makers across channels, members can leave direct comments on whether to maintain or abandon right on the application timeline. No endless alignment meetings. No lost feedback. Just absolute clarity on what to keep and what to cut. #IPManagement #PatentCommittee #PatentStrategy #LegalTech

"Why are we six rounds into an argument with an examiner who usually settles in two?" 🛑 That is a conversation you want to have before your attorney calls you with another extension bill. Most innovation managers only get patent updates after an Office Action lands. By then, you are already playing catch-up, relying entirely on outside counsel’s strategy without any baseline data to check it against. The TIP Tool changes how you prepare for those strategy calls. By pulling Examiner Analytics directly into your dashboard, you can instantly see your examiner's historical allowance rate, average grant timelines, and typical rounds of office actions. Instead of blindly approving another response draft, you get the data needed to ask better questions: Is your counsel tracking effectively against the examiner's historical average? Does this examiner respond better to interviews than written paper trails? Should you pivot your claim strategy early to save years in prosecution time? Stop reacting to your patent pipeline. Start steering it. P.S The link to the tool is in the comments. #IPManagement #PatentStrategy #PatentExaminer #PatentAttorney
