67% vs. 19%. That's the gap in satisfaction between sustainability professionals at companies communicating more about sustainability and those communicating less. In Trellis Group's 2026 State of the Sustainability Profession report, sustainability communications emerged as the strongest predictor of professional satisfaction—outpacing factors like budget and organizational structure. While communication without meaningful action can ring hollow, public commitments help clarify priorities, signal what an organization stands for, and create accountability to follow through.

For years, the conversation has been framed as a tradeoff: sustainability or business performance. A new analysis by IMPACT ROI, LLC reviewed 640 studies and found a consistent pattern: organizations that create meaningful environmental and social impact, and integrate those considerations into core business strategy, tend to outperform their peers across a range of business outcomes. That said, sustainability doesn’t just automatically pay off. Rather, value is created when sustainability is executed well: embedded in decision-making, aligned with business objectives, and focused on delivering real-world results. The takeaway? Sustainability is most effective when it's embedded into core business strategy and not treated as a separate initiative.

Water isn’t owned by any one company. It’s a vital resource which is essential to nature and communities, helping to create thriving natural ecosystems. That’s the lens Coca-Cola Europacific Partners is using as it looks beyond efficiency alone. Across the 31 countries where it operates, and its entire value chain, the company is working toward water security. It’s one example of how Climate Pledge signatories are rethinking their role in protecting the systems that communities and ecosystems depend on. On the bright side, Amazon deforestation is at an eight-year low! The number of deforested kilometers in the Brazilian Amazon between August 2025 and March 2026 fell by 36 percent compared to the previous year, according to a recent report published by the Brazilian Human and Environment Amazon Institute, also known as Imazon. In total, 1,460 square kilometers (564 square miles) of land were cut down during that period, the lowest figure since 2018. Source: Inside Climate News

Across ecosystems and agricultural systems alike, bees play a critical role in keeping things running. They help pollinate roughly a third of the global food supply and support the reproduction of more than three-quarters of flowering plants. Emerging research also shows that bees are a lot smarter than we once thought. They are capable of making the sort of intelligent decisions that scientists previously believed were possible only in vertebrates, including recognizing patterns, differentiating between symbols, identifying human faces, cooperating on novel tasks, and planning for the future. At the same time, bee populations are facing growing challenges from parasites, pathogens, habitat loss, and environmental stressors. On World Bee Day, we’re recognizing how much these brilliant little pollinators contribute and why supporting the conditions they need to thrive matters.
