A Huge Shoutout to James Barkey ❤️ Every once in a while, someone does something that reminds you just how much good one person can do for another. We want to give a massive shoutout to our own Jim Barkey for an incredible act of generosity and selflessness. Nearly 30 years ago, Jim and Kevin Musgrove served together. Life took them in different directions, and they hadn't seen each other in three decades. When their paths crossed again, Jim learned that Kevin was in need of a kidney transplant and facing a very difficult road ahead. Despite not having seen Kevin for 30 years, Jim stepped forward and offered to become a living kidney donor. After going through the testing and process, Jim ultimately donated one of his kidneys to Kevin — giving someone he had known decades earlier a chance at a healthier future and a second chance at life. What makes this story so incredible is Jim's perspective. He didn't see himself as a hero. He saw someone he knew who needed help, and if he could help, he was willing to do it. Thirty years had passed, but that connection still mattered. Jim, we couldn't be prouder to have you as part of our team. What you did is an extraordinary example of courage, compassion and selflessness. You literally gave someone a part of yourself so they could have more time with the people they love. That's bigger than a job. That's character. Please join us in giving Jim Barkey the biggest shoutout for this incredible act of kindness. We are incredibly proud to have you on our team, Jim — and even more proud of the person you are. ❤️ Read the full story from the Northwest Indiana Times here: https://lnkd.in/gcHm9eKU
