  • Who knew bagels could spark so many great conversations? 🥯☕ The morning of Wed. July 15, fourteen development/fundraising professionals from Jewish nonprofit organizations across the Dallas area gathered over coffee and bagels to connect, collaborate, and learn from one another. One of the highlights? Taking a "Which Bagel Are You?" quiz. We broke into our "bagel groups" to discuss questions tied to our results. It was a fun way to spark conversations about our strengths, relationship-building styles, and the unique perspectives each of us brings to our organizations. Beyond the bagels, the morning was a reminder of how valuable it is to step away from our desks, build relationships with peers, exchange ideas, and strengthen the network of professionals working to make our communities stronger. Grateful to everyone who joined us and made the morning such a success. Looking forward to the next one! Community Homes for Adults, Inc. • What happens when generations raise the stakes for a cause? Real impact. Our recent Men’s Charity Poker Night brought together fathers, sons, grandfathers, mentors, colleagues, and friends for an unforgettable evening of camaraderie, competition, and generosity “All in” support of our Financial Assistance Fund. From seasoned card players to first-time bluffers, the night showcased the power of community across generations, united by a shared commitment to helping seniors. Together, we raised funds that will directly support individuals facing financial hardship. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, donated, sponsored, and volunteered. Your support proves that when community and purpose come together, everyone wins. #CommunityImpact #GivingBack #CharityEvent #FinancialAssistance #MensNight #PokerForAPurpose #Intergenerational #NonprofitSupport

  • We hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day. This past weekend, we were proud to have members of our team join in celebrating an incredible milestone as the JCC of Dallas honored Bob for his 100th birthday. 🎉 For years, he has been a familiar and inspiring part of the Bagel Run tradition — showing up with energy, consistency, and a spirit that reminds all of us what community is really about. Seeing generations come together to celebrate him was a powerful reminder that wellness, connection, and joy have no age limit. Thank you to the JCC of Dallas for recognizing such an extraordinary individual and for creating spaces where traditions like the Bagel Run continue to bring people together year after year. Here’s to 100 years of life well lived — and many more Bagel Runs ahead! 🥯❤️ #Community #JCCDallas #BagelRun #ActiveLiving #SeniorLiving #Celebration #TeamCulture

  • Grateful to spend time with such an inspiring group of development professionals serving Jewish non-profits across North Texas. This inaugural gathering, hosted by Community Homes for Adults, Inc. (CHAI), was more than just networking. It was a meaningful time of friendship, mutual encouragement, and shared learning. Together, we explored best practices in development, fundraising, and events, all with a shared commitment to strengthening our communities. Special thanks to partners and peers from the Dallas Jewish Community Foundation and Jewish Family Service of Dallas who joined in the conversation and contributed to such a rich exchange of ideas. There’s something powerful about coming together with peers who understand the work, the challenges, and the impact. Looking forward to continuing these conversations and collaborations. #JewishNonprofits #Fundraising #DevelopmentProfessionals #NorthTexas #Community

  • Passover is a time of reflection, remembrance, and renewal—a moment to honor resilience, faith, and the enduring importance of community. At The Legacy Senior Communities we relish in bringing generations together. Around every Seder table, there is a powerful symbol: a seat for each person, and a reminder that everyone belongs. That spirit continues with spaces where every individual feels seen, valued, and welcomed. Because meaningful community means ensuring there is always a place at the table for all. We are grateful to be part of a community where traditions are celebrated, stories are shared, and inclusion is lived every day. Wishing all who celebrate a meaningful and peaceful Passover. #Community #Inclusion #SeniorLiving #LegacySeniorCommunities #ReinventingSeniorLiving

  • SPRING IS COMING!! Our team is excited to assist you as you transition into a new home. We look forward to helping you with this next step and hope you choose #TheLegacySeniorCommunities for your next adventure! Moving into a senior living community is a transition, and spring cleaning beforehand can make it smoother, lighter, and even a bit emotional (in a good way). The goal isn’t just to clean, it’s to simplify, prioritize, and prepare for a new lifestyle (feel . Here’s a practical, compassionate approach to get it done without overwhelm: 🌿 1. Start Early & Break It Into Zones Don’t try to do everything at once. Tackle one area at a time: Closet Kitchen Bathroom Living spaces Storage/garage Set small goals like “one drawer per day” to keep momentum without burnout. 🧹 2. Use the 4-Pile Method As you go through items, sort into: Keep (essentials + meaningful items) Donate Give to family/friends Discard Tip: Senior living spaces are usually smaller, so be realistic about what will fit comfortably. 💛 3. Focus on Function + Sentiment Ask yourself: Do I use this regularly? Will it fit in my new space? Does it truly bring me joy or comfort? Keep a few treasured sentimental items, but consider digitizing things like old photos or documents to save space. 📦 4. Measure Your New Space If possible, get a floor plan of your new residence. This helps you: Decide which furniture to bring Avoid overcrowding Plan a comfortable, safe layout (important for mobility) 👕 5. Downsize Clothing Thoughtfully Keep versatile, comfortable outfits Prioritize easy-to-wear items (elastic waistbands, slip-on shoes) Donate rarely worn or duplicate pieces 🧼 6. Deep Clean What You’re Leaving Behind Before moving out: Clean appliances, cabinets, and floors Wipe down surfaces Patch small holes or scuffs if needed 🎁 7. Share the Love Offer meaningful items to loved ones: Family heirlooms Furniture pieces Books or collections It can make letting go feel more rewarding. 🗂️ 8. Organize Important Documents Keep a clearly labeled folder for: Medical records Insurance info Legal documents Emergency contacts Bring this with you - not in a moving truck. 🚚 9. Pack Smart for Day One Set aside a “first day” box with: Medications Toiletries Comfortable clothes Phone charger Important paperwork 🧠 10. Be Kind to Yourself This process can bring up emotions. That’s normal. You’re not just moving, you are transitioning to a new chapter. Take breaks, ask for help, and celebrate progress. 🤝 Bonus: Get Help if Needed Professional organizers (We have a List for you!) Family members Moving services that focus on downsizing #TheLegacySeniorCommunities #TheLegacyMidtownPark #TheLegacyWillowBend

  • We were proud to be out in the community this week representing The Legacy at two incredible Dallas events! At the 31st Annual Dallas Kosher Chili Cook-Off, our amazing team members were hard at work handing out our chili, connecting with attendees and sharing our mission—while our dedicated board members showed their support throughout the day. We also had the opportunity to participate in the JCC of Dallas Senior Expo, where our team engaged with attendees, provided valuable information about The Legacy, and handed out resources and giveaways. A big thank you to everyone who stopped by to connect with us—and to our team and board members who continue to make meaningful community impact possible every day! #CommunityEngagement #DallasEvents #TheLegacy #Teamwork #SeniorExpo #ChiliCookOff #ReinventingSeniorLiving
