The Family Counseling Center

Fifty years ago, The Family Counseling Center didn't have a building. We didn't have a large staff or a long list of programs. We had people who saw a need - and decided to do something about it. Janice Tucci was one of those people. in 1976, Jan became one of The Family Counseling Center's founding therapists. She and the other early therapists worked wherever they could find space, connected by phone and driven by the belief that children and families in our community deserved someone to turn to. There was no blueprint for what The Family Counseling Center would become. There was simply a need and a willingness to meet it. Jan carried that same philosophy throughout her career: meet people where they are, think beyond the box, and look for the connection. Five decades later, that spirit is still at the heart of who we are. As part of our 50th Anniversary celebration, Jan will receive the Dr. David and Ann Lee Clough Award, recognizing her exceptional contribution to behavioral health and her lifelong commitment to children and families. When Jan looks back, she says she never imagined that those early days would grow into The Family Counseling Center we know today. We’re so grateful that she was there when it all began. Because 50 years of care has to start somewhere - and for us, it started with people like Janice. Congratulations, Janice. What a fantastic day at Fulton County Youth Day! Our team had an amazing time connecting with local youth and families at Trail Station Park today! Ariana, Jarell, Lauren, and Madison spent the day sharing information about our programs, playing games, handing out prizes, and meeting so many wonderful members of our #community. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table to say hello, learn more about our services, and join the fun. Events like today's are a wonderful reminder of the importance of coming together to support the #health and well-being of our youngest community members.
