Carlyle's Global Opportunistic Credit platform is delighted to announce the successful exit of its investment in Amber River. Separately, Carlyle's Direct Lending team has partnered with Stone Point Capital to provide financing in support of the company's next phase of growth. Amber River is a leading UK independent financial planning business, serving clients through a network of regional wealth centres. Since Carlyle's investment, the business has continued to strengthen its market position, expanding both organically and through acquisitions while investing in its people, technology and client offering. With a scaled national infrastructure, differentiated regional model and strong management team, Amber River is well positioned to continue its growth trajectory under Stone Point's ownership. The continuation of Carlyle's relationship with Amber River through our Direct Lending strategy underscores the breadth of our Global Credit platform and our ability to provide tailored capital solutions at different stages of a company's growth journey. Adnan Khalef, a Managing Director in Carlyle’s European Credit platform, said: "The investment in Amber River reflects our strategy of providing flexible capital to resilient, high-quality businesses in support of their long-term growth ambitions. We are delighted to have partnered with CEO Mary-Anne McIntyre, the Amber River team and Penta Capital and look forward to continuing to back the business under Stone Point’s ownership.”

Records were set across M&A, IPOs, and exits last quarter. And virtually none of them describe the market most investors are operating in. Our latest Global Private Markets Quarterly, authored by Ruulke Bagijn, Dan Murphy, and Hannah Khizgilov examines a quarter where just .3% of deals drove 42% of global M&A volume and a single IPO (SpaceX) drove 80% of record exit value. Beneath those aggregates, the US market absorbed higher energy prices and dashed hopes of a rate cut from the Fed, venture capital skewed almost entirely toward AI, and credit markets stayed open to most everything except software. The big headlines from Q2 were mostly noise, but underneath is a signal indicating what we believe is likely to persist.
