✨EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT✨ Karen Ryan brings a strong commitment to public service to her role as an Office Services Specialist with the Saint Louis County Department of Public Health where she supports the Health inspectors in South County. Since joining the department in June 2025, Karen has handled permits for health and retail establishments, tobacco and tattoo businesses, pools and temporary events. She also provides valuable office support to inspectors and assists residents and business owners through the permitting process. Karen previously served Saint Louis County as a 911 Dispatcher and as a Patient Service Representative. She says she returned to County Government because she considers it the “gold standard of public service” and believes residents and taxpayers deserve quality services. Even with the high volume of restaurants, stores and other businesses she works with, Karen embraces the fast pace and enjoys staying active and engaged in her work.
