Great leadership isn't measured by the size of an operation. It's measured by the culture that leader creates. Lindsay Clemons demonstrates that every day at Sonoma County Airport. Through employee recognition programs, community engagement, cross-airport support and a genuine commitment to her team, Lindsay has created an environment where people feel connected, appreciated and empowered to do their best work. "Lindsay embodies the kind of leadership that drives long-term success," said Regional Vice President Ed Hartless. "She invests in people, builds strong relationships and creates a culture that guests, employees and the community can all feel. That's what great leadership looks like." Her impact extends well beyond Flying Ace, serving as a powerful reminder that our people remain the best part of the journey. #Leadership #AirportLeadership #Hospitality #SonomaCounty #BestPartOfTheJourney

Nothing happens without great people, and Asrubial “Papo” Suriel is a wonderful example. We’re thrilled to see Papo recognized as one of LGA Terminal B’s B-Celebrated Award recipients for the passion, teamwork, and hospitality he brings to the airport community every day. Congratulations, Papo! #SSPAmerica #TeamSSP #BCelebrated
Celebrating a very well-deserved recognition for Asrubial “Papo” Suriel, one of this quarter’s LGA Terminal B B-Celebrated Award recipients! Papo was one of just two individuals recognized across the Terminal B community this quarter. Since joining SSP America in March 2022, Papo has consistently been an exceptional member of our team. He works hard and smart, embraces new ideas, and cares deeply about his craft, his team, and delivering exceptional results. What makes Papo special is that his impact extends far beyond the kitchen. Whether supporting other SSP locations, stepping out to care for a guest, or simply noticing where he can help, he consistently goes above and beyond—not only for SSP, but for the broader LGA Terminal B community. Papo, thank you for your passion, commitment, and everything you bring to our team. We are incredibly proud to see you recognized and celebrate this well-earned honor with you. Congratulations! 👏🏽🏆 #SSPAmerica #BCelebrated #TeamSSP #Recognition #LaGuardiaAirport #Hospitality

Today, we brought team members across our business together for our quarterly Town Hall and came away with a simple reminder: a better journey for travelers starts with the people who serve them. Our teams continue to perform in a challenging travel environment by staying focused on what matters most: operational excellence, disciplined performance, digital progress, and a consistently great guest experience. From new restaurant openings to award-winning operations, the work happening across our airports reflects the care, focus and hospitality our teams bring to the job every day. Those results matter, but they are made possible by people who understand where we are headed, support one another and bring SSP’s purpose to life for travelers and partners. Our focus remains clear: supporting our operators, strengthening the guest experience and continuing to earn the trust of our airport partners, brand partners and travelers. To every SSP America team member who shows up for our guests, our partners and each other, thank you. You help make SSP America the best part of the journey. What makes a guest remember an experience? Sometimes, it’s simply being seen. Jessica’s story is a wonderful example of how authentic hospitality can transform an everyday interaction into something meaningful. Thank you, Jessica, for the warmth and care you bring to every guest experience. We’re proud of the people across SSP America who bring that same spirit to the guest experience every day, helping make every journey the Best Part of the Journey.
There’s a waitress at LaGuardia I don’t know. I mean, I know who she is. She’s familiar to me. I’m almost certainly not familiar to her. She has no idea that I'd buy a ticket to watch her work. I'm her number 1 fan. Her name is Jessica. She works at the Brooklyn Diner in Terminal B, for those of you passing through LaGuardia. Jessica sees thousands of customers every year. ☕ 🥓 🍳 🍔 🥤 🥗 Over ten or so visits, I’ve probably spent a total of 30 minutes with her. Somehow, in those few minutes, Jessica has done something that shifted everything. 👇 She made me feel seen. When we feel seen, magic 🎩 🐇 🪄 happens. And she didn't just do it once; she does it every - single - time. On a recent trip to New York, I didn't need breakfast when I landed. But I couldn’t walk past the Brooklyn Diner without looking for Jessica and saying hello. Walking past would have felt wrong. So I stopped. About 90 seconds. Long enough to say hello, tell Jessica that she’s wonderful, let her know what I do for work, and how I always notice people like her, who show up differently for people. I asked Jessica for permission to share this story, and take a pic. “Sure, Babe!” she said. ❤️ She always calls me Babe. She's old school. HR can suck a 🍋. All work is theatre. 🎭 Every business is a stage. And Jessica doesn’t just do her job. She performs it. 👏 She makes you watch. She takes an everyday experience — eating a quick meal alone in an airport — and makes it memorable. Jess makes moments matter. Jess makes even a few minutes with you feel meaningful. Most importantly, Jessica makes a very specific impression, which is that she’s been waiting for you to arrive. As if she knew you were coming in and had been monitoring your flight. Imagine how it must feel to be under her care. Then imagine Jessica doing your job. Imagine if she had hours with her clients instead of minutes. Imagine what she could make them feel. That’s the lesson. You don’t always need more time with people. You need to do more with the time you have. Make it matter. #BuildBelonging #CustomerExperience #ExperienceEconomy #MakeMomentsMatter

What does a great airport leader do when nobody's watching? For Aaron Esenberg, it starts with listening. As Director of Operations at Phoenix Sky Harbor, Aaron has built a culture rooted in accountability, engagement and a little friendly competition. But what stands out most is how visible he is. You'll find him walking his restaurants, talking with frontline team members, connecting with airport partners, and seeking feedback from travelers and mystery shoppers alike. Aaron believes great operations aren't built in conference rooms. They're built through conversations, curiosity and a willingness to keep improving. That mindset helps his team stay focused on the fundamentals that matter most: exceptional service, engaged employees and consistently great guest experiences. Regional Vice President of Operations Ed Hartless shared, "Aaron understands that sustainable success comes from balancing three priorities: great experiences for travelers, strong partnerships with our airport stakeholders, and an engaged team that feels connected to the work. He doesn't treat those as competing priorities. He knows they work together, and that's reflected in the results his team continues to deliver." At SSP America, we often talk about being the Best Part of the Journey. Leaders like Aaron bring that idea to life every day by staying connected to the people they serve and the teams they lead. #Leadership #AirportLeadership #Hospitality #PhoenixSkyHarbor #BestPartOfTheJourney

Every sandwich has a story. Some are famous because of the city they come from. Others are loved because they're part of the local culture. Throughout National Sandwich Month, we're taking a bite out of North America, one airport at a time. From Montréal smoked meat to Chicago Italian beef, these are just a few of the regional favorites travelers can enjoy across the SSP America network. Which one are you ordering first? And more importantly... did we miss your favorite?

As Shark Week comes to a close, here's one thing we've learned: it's not really about the sharks. 🦈 This month, Shark Week was on our activity calendar, giving teams a chance to connect, have a little fun, and create moments that bring people together during the workday. Activities like these are designed to build connections that make a great workplace even stronger. The fun is only part of the story. When teams feel connected and engaged, it shows up in the experiences we create for travelers every day. And that's how we become the best part of the journey. Thanks to everyone who made a splash this week. 🦈✈️ Thanks to everyone who jumped in, showed their fin-spirit, and helped make a splash this week. 🦈 😄 #SharkWeek #BestPartOfTheJourney #LifeAtSSPAmerica

A lion dance 🦁 through the terminal is one way to announce that something new has arrived at YVR. SSP Canada is proud to celebrate the opening of Lucky Lily Asian Brasserie, a one-of-a-kind concept created in collaboration with celebrated Canadian Chef Nicole Gomes 👩🍳 and developed specifically for Vancouver Airport Authority. Located in the Domestic Terminal near Gate C46 📍, Lucky Lily brings together bold Asian flavours, modern brasserie dining, and a story rooted in family, heritage, and hospitality ❤️. The grand opening brought together airport leaders, partners, family, and members of the SSP team for a vibrant lion dance, ribbon cutting ✂️, and celebration of the people and collaboration behind the concept. Lucky Lily shows what is possible when airport partnership, culinary talent, and experienced hospitality teams come together around a shared vision 🤝. Congratulations to Chef Nicole Gomes, YVR, and everyone across SSP Canada and SSP America who helped bring Lucky Lily from an idea to opening day 🎉. 📍 YVR Domestic Terminal, Gate C46 Chef Nicole Gomes Chef Amy Cho Benedict Ma Harry Steele Bob Stanton Paul Loupakos Richard Wilson
