🇹🇼 First time speaking in Taiwan! Qnity CEO Jon Kemp to discuss "Shrink to Stack" “After 50 years of making chips smaller, shrink alone can no longer keep up with AI compute.” In the video, Qnity Electronics CEO Jon Kemp points to a fundamental shift facing the semiconductor industry. At the SEMICON Taiwan 2026 CEO Summit & Ecosystem Executive Summit, Qnity Electronics CEO and keynote speaker Jon Kemp will present “Shrink to Stack - Redefining Semiconductor Innovation in the Angstrom Era,” exploring how semiconductor innovation is moving beyond continued scaling toward more complex stacking, advanced packaging, and system integration. Qnity’s materials and solutions span semiconductor manufacturing, advanced packaging, interconnects, and thermal management, supporting the growth of AI, high-performance computing, and advanced connectivity. Qnity has also announced a US$61.5 million investment in a new advanced semiconductor research and manufacturing facility in Taiwan to expand capacity and support global customer demand. “The chip is no longer the single unit of innovation. AI in semiconductor manufacturing is moving beyond the race for the largest model. A key theme from our recent AI Techniques in Semiconductor Manufacturing workshop was that successful industrial AI depends on the right architecture: domain expertise, high-quality context, knowledge graphs, ontologies, and well-orchestrated agents. Physics-informed AI and Bayesian methods are showing real potential for process optimization, predictive maintenance, failure analysis, and equipment troubleshooting—particularly where data is sparse and engineering constraints matter. Just as important, scalable deployment requires measurable evaluation, hallucination control, explainability, governance, and security from day one. The near-term opportunity is clear: AI that captures and operationalizes engineering and service knowledge can deliver tangible value across semiconductor manufacturing. Thank you to our speakers and attendees for two days of thoughtful discussions and meaningful connections. As global demand for semiconductors continues to rise, policies that strengthen domestic manufacturing are essential for long-term competitiveness. We commend the August 5 statement from Senate Finance Committee Chairman Mike Crapo and Ranking Member Ron Wyden, reaffirming support for the Section 48D Advanced Manufacturing Investment Credit (AMIC). This follows SEMI's recent Tax Day event, where senior tax executives from our member companies visited Capitol Hill to discuss the importance of AMIC to the semiconductor supply chain. “The joint statement from senators Crapo and Wyden in support of the Section 48D tax credit highlights the crucial role it plays in strengthening U.S. semiconductor manufacturing, creating jobs, and advancing national security,” said SEMI President and CEO Ajit Manocha. “Last month we shared on Capitol Hill how the looming AMIC expiration adds uncertainty for our member companies in the semiconductor supply chain, some of whom are actively planning to expand operations to meet rising chip demand, and we applaud the senators’ leadership for this pivotal tool in attracting semiconductor ecosystem investment.” Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gtQhj__k #SEMI #Semiconductors #SupplyChain #AdvancedManufacturing #AMIC #TaxPolicy
