  • Today Lovable raised a $400M Series C that values the business at over $13B. One man who has had a front row seat to this remarkable journey is CFO Andy T.. “This team in Stockholm moves at a pace you’ve probably not seen before," Andy told our Nowi Kallen in a recent interview. In honor of Lovable's Series C, today we're sharing what Andy has learned from his time with the Lovable team about startup speed, velocity, and how AI is allowing teams to "catch all the rabbits." 🎉 Congrats to Andy, Anton Osika, Fabian Hedin, and the entire Lovable team on today's milestone. Salesforce Ventures is proud to be partnered with you on this journey. https://lnkd.in/ge-Gv3m2

Made my TV debut yesterday, joining Dani Burger on Bloomberg Deals alongside Julia Moore and Daniel Docter to discuss where capital is flowing across the AI landscape. Tremendous tailwinds in AI are allowing today's startups to achieve product and commercial milestones faster than any generation of startups before them – accelerating the pace of venture dealmaking like never before. My panelists might not completely agree with me, but a few things I have a ton of conviction on from our conversation: 🌟 Valuation vs. Quality: While top-tier startups command premium valuations (historically or in this new AI era), betting on visionary founders building generational technology makes backing the best teams well worth it. 🌟 The Shift to Physical AI: At Salesforce Ventures, we've spent the last 4 years investing across the AI infrastructure layer by backing leaders like Anthropic, Together AI, Crusoe, ElevenLabs, and Runway. Looking ahead, we think bringing AI into the physical world is the next most important thing – through investing in robotics pioneers such as Mind Robotics, Physical Intelligence and beyond. 🌟 The Enterprise Advantage: As venture dealmaking speeds up and becomes more competitive, our secret sauce remains leveraging our extensive global customer base through Salesforce to pressure test products and help our founders scale faster. In a fast-moving market, our strategy remains clear: providing patient capital, customer connectivity, and long-term partnership to help enterprise founders define the future. • Base Power Company just raised a $1B Series D and launched Core, one of the largest home batteries on the market, designed and built in the U.S. We're excited to be re-investing in this round. Our thesis hasn't changed: The U.S. grid needs new capacity, fast, and Base is building it home by home. Since our initial investment, the team has scaled its battery fleet past 500 MWh, expanded from Texas into Illinois, and struck utility partnerships with Austin Energy, El Paso Electric, and CoServ for 200+ MW of capacity. Core takes that further — a 39.2 kWh / 78.4 kWh battery built at Base's own factory in Austin, engineered for grid support and installed in under an hour. Congrats to Zach Dell, Justin Lopas, and the whole Base team. Proud to keep backing this mission.

Today, we're launching Base Core, our own battery designed & built in Texas, and announcing our $1B Series D to bring it to homes across the country. Three years ago, we started Base with a belief that batteries were the unlock to energy abundance. We saw battery storage as the foundation of a modern energy system, and believed we could win the market with vertical integration, technology, and relentless execution (what we now call Base Pace). So we set out to build a network of distributed batteries to deliver affordable, reliable electricity to homeowners and utilities. While the job is far from finished, the launch of Base Core is the most meaningful step in that plan. We’ve spent the last few years learning hard lessons about building a distributed battery fleet, going from 1 install per day in June of ‘24 to 100 installs per day in June of ‘26. These lessons - how the battery is shipped, installed, used, and monitored - informed the design of Core. Now, Core will be the foundation of the company's next phase of growth. Base Core is a first-of-its-kind home battery. At ~40 kWh it is 3x the size of most home batteries, providing up to 36 hours of backup for the average home. In the event of multi-day outage, Core is equipped with a (first of its kind) generator port - pull out a small portable generator and charge the battery back up to keep your home running as long as you need. When an outage does happen, the backup is seamless - most members won't even notice the grid went down. It's built to withstand Texas summers, Chicago Winters, and everything in between. And finally, it’s manufactured by our team in Austin, at Base Factory 1, right across the street from our HQ. This new capital will bring Core to more homes and to accelerate our ambition beyond batteries. The round is co-led by Ribbit, Addition, Valor, and JP Morgan, with participation from new major investors D1, Sands, Coatue, Layer Global, and Energy Impact Partners. All of Base’s major existing investors are re-investing, including Thrive, Altimeter, Lightspeed, a16z, CapitalG, Trust, and more. This brings our valuation to $13B. Electricity is the largest and most essential industry in the world, and it does not have a defining technology company. The company that delivers the most affordable, reliable power will be one of the largest and most impactful companies in the world. We intend to build it. If you'd like to join us, reach out. Onwards. https://lnkd.in/g57sTXTh

  • Salesforce Ventures is proud to join Antora Energy's Series C 🔋 Growing demand across AI infrastructure, heavy industry, and electric transport is bottlenecked by one thing: reliable, around-the-clock power. New gas plants and grid interconnections take 5-7 years to come online. The grid simply can't keep up. Antora is building a new tool for the energy stack. Their thermal batteries store low-cost electricity as heat in solid carbon blocks — heated to more than 2,000°C — and release it around the clock as steam for industrial processes or electricity for data centers and the grid. What makes Antora different: carbon is roughly a tenth the cost of lithium-ion battery materials, holds four times as much energy in the same space, and doesn't depend on the mined-mineral supply chains that constrain lithium-ion at scale. The proof is already in the ground. Their first giga-scale deployment, a 5GWh system in South Dakota, went from an empty lot to delivering 24/7 energy to ethanol producer POET in under a year. That's one of the largest batteries in the world, deployed at a speed that almost no energy technology has matched. We're proud to back Andrew Ponec, Justin Briggs, David Bierman, and the entire Antora team as they build the firm power infrastructure the AI era demands 🤝 🔗 On our blog, Claudine Emeott, Adrianna Alterman, and Dom Pusateri wrote more about our belief in Antora: https://lnkd.in/g6z55Zq8

I'm happy to share an important milestone in Callimacus's journey. Today we announce an important investment from Salesforce Ventures, which will allow us to expand our engineering and AI research team in Milan, accelerate product development and drive commercial growth across Europe and North America. Callimacus is the first platform to design, develop and deliver AI-powered, pageless websites and applications, where content recombines and the UX composes itself in real time, based on each user's interaction. For years, when building online experiences we have endlessly replicated models and templates conceived decades ago, in another era. Now we have entered the age of AI. We are becoming accustomed to digital tools that display a new kind of intelligence, tools we can converse with and from which we expect fast, precise, and effective answers. With Callimacus, we would like to bring some of this intelligence to websites and digital experiences, which we believe will remain the place where every brand will want to express its own identity and, without intermediaries, tell its own story. A huge thank you to Brunello Cucinelli, who believed in this project from day one, and to Salesforce Ventures. We are incredibly grateful and proud that this represents Salesforce Ventures' largest AI investment in Italy. Nowi Kallen, Kartik Gupta, Samuel Ackah-Yensu, Alex Haskell, we look forward to working together in the coming months! And finally, thank you to our amazing team at Callimacus, the people who make all of this possible every single day.

  • 5️⃣ lessons on company-building from two-time founder and current Upwind Security CEO Amiram Shachar: 👉 Your best ideas come from problems you've personally lived through. 👉 In a world where anyone can build, staying close to customers is key. 👉 A platform only works if there's a reason for everything to connect. 👉 Sometimes the smartest time to raise money is when you don't need it. 👉 80% of your day as a founder will be bad — and that's a good thing. Amiram didn't set out to build a security company. He was a DevOps engineer who saw firsthand how security tools fail the people doing the work — and built Upwind to fix it. 🔗 Our own Nowi Kallen and Kartik Gupta sat down with Amiram to talk about conviction, customer feedback, and why the hardest days are the ones that matter most: https://lnkd.in/e-9nCvrb

We’ve raised $320M at an $11B valuation, led by Addition. AI is collapsing how companies get built, with smaller teams going global from day one and increasingly powered by agents. We’ve spent 10 years building the financial rails for that world. We’re now building the intelligent layer on top. This raise lets us accelerate on this vision, starting with two new products: → T:0, an AI-native finance platform that replaces a fragmented stack of bookkeeping, reporting, revenue recognition, and finance ops with one always-on system. → And Airi, our one-click checkout solution that will evolve into an agentic consumer wallet. When software agents transact on your behalf, they need a regulated and global conduit to access and transact with fiat or stablecoins. That is what Airi is. Thanks Addition, Baillie Gifford, Hummingbird Ventures, QED Investors, T. Rowe Price, Haun Ventures, Hedosophia, Washington University in St. Louis, and Amex Ventures for backing us. We believe this is the most consequential moment in the history of global finance, and we intend to build accordingly.
