Learning a language isn't just about knowing the words, it's about having the confidence to use them. That’s one of the clearest takeaways from our research with Leanlab Education. We surveyed English learners who switched to Preply after learning on a leading self-learning app, and they overwhelmingly reported that 1:1, personalized tutoring had a greater impact on their ability to make real-world progress. Here’s what they told us: -100% of learners said Preply contributed more to their fluency. -99% said it improved their speaking confidence more. -98% said it contributed more to their speaking ability. Our Chief Product Officer Josh Crossick shared why these findings stood out to him, and why he thinks the best learning experiences don’t just teach, they build confidence to speak. People don’t learn a language just to complete lessons. They learn to communicate, build relationships, advance their careers, and create new opportunities. That’s why we partnered with Leanlab Education to better understand what drives real learning progress. After learners switched from a leading self-learning language app to Preply: • 100% said Preply contributed more to their fluency • Learners were 9x more likely to say they felt motivated to keep learning • The percentage of learners who achieved their language goals doubled These findings reinforce what we’ve long believed. The most effective learning experiences combine technology with the motivation, accountability, and personalized guidance that only human connection provides. Writing code is only one part of engineering. As AI takes on more repetitive tasks, engineers can spend less time on syntax and debugging, and more time designing systems, understanding customer needs, and solving complex problems. Our CTO, Dmytro Voloshyn, shares his perspective on how tools like OpenAI's Codex are redefining the engineering craft. Read more on how we're embracing AI as a core part of our workflow: https://lnkd.in/gGgxACwF

"Building feels like thinking." That idea sparked one of the best discussions at last week's UX Community Barcelona meetup at the Preply office. As AI makes it easier than ever to prototype and ship ideas, it's also becoming easier to mistake speed for progress. Our Principal Product Designer, Tim Green, reminded us that design has never just been about the screens. It's about judgment, knowing which problem is worth solving, and when human thinking matters most. Thanks to everyone who joined us for another great evening of product design conversations. #UX #ProductDesign #AI

Search is changing faster than most playbooks can keep up. Not long ago, SEO teams were optimizing for rankings above all else. Today, they're also thinking about citations, AI-generated answers, and how AI tools understand and recommend brands. At Preply, that shift meant questioning assumptions we'd relied on for years. We restructured our SEO team, redefined what success looks like, and spent months testing ideas instead of chasing every new trend ☝ In this interview, our Head of SEO, Francesco Visconti, shares how the team navigated that transition - from the experiments that failed to the changes that made the biggest difference. 🔗 Read the full interview: https://lnkd.in/eS_gCEAA

Does AI make engineering teams faster, or just busier? That was the question at the heart of last week's #PreplyTalks at our Kyiv office. We brought together engineering leaders from GitLab, Solidgate, and Preply to discuss where AI is adding value to engineering workflows, where it still falls short, and how their teams are measuring its impact instead of relying on assumptions 🗯️ Big thanks to Illya Klymov, Nikita Popov, and our own Vlad Levkovskyi and Tetiana Melnyk for keeping it real and sharing what they're actually seeing in their teams. P.S. If you spotted the white dog in the photos - that's Borjava, our unofficial Kyiv office mascot and a regular at Preply events 🐶
