Domestic critical minerals for semiconductors
About us
America's critical metals aren't buried. They've already been dug up. 4.6 billion tons of domestic industrial waste contains over 1,000 years of domestic gallium, germanium, silicon, and rare earth elements. PHNX Materials is the only company that extracts critical metals from industrial waste while selling the residual waste into concrete. No acid leaching. No waste-for-waste tradeoff. We deliver domestic gallium, germanium, and silicon for semiconductors and defense. ASTM-grade supplementary cementitious material for infrastructure. And fertilizer as a co-product, not a cost center. Backed by the Department of Energy and the Defense Logistics Agency, PHNX has identified 850+ U.S. sites, worked with 25+ partners, and brings an exceptional team of engineers from Stanford and U.S. national labs. We're building a domestic supply chain without waiting decades for new mines.

Thank you National Energy Technology Laboratory for hosting Camille Schaffer on behalf of PHNX at the launch of the Critical Minerals & Advanced Alloys Center of Excellence. The CMAA CoE's mission to advance secure, resilient critical mineral supply chains through integrated R&D is the kind of public-private partnership this sector needs. We're energized by the discussions and look forward to bringing CM production back onshore. PHNX recovers gallium and other critical minerals from domestic industrial byproducts that would otherwise sit in landfills.

PHNX Materials thanks Benjamin Gallagher from the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) for visiting our pilot facility and conducting an independent third-party review of our technology’s performance in creating ASTM-compliant fly ash from commingled ash and FGD materials. We look forward to the report and results and are grateful for the time and effort from EPRI.
