  • In November 2024, the U.S. Army awarded Paligen a $435 million contract to construct and operate the first U.S. domestic TNT facility in the United States since the 1980s. In addition to bringing TNT manufacturing back to our country’s industrial base, the project ensures a domestic source for DoW’s munitions for decades to come. Our team is constructing the facility in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky using state-of-the-art technology, leveraging the use of automation, digitization, and integrating modern facility support operations. The facility’s systems will yield consistent product quality and operational reliability for one of the U.S. military’s most critical ordnance explosives. The plant’s future successes will be attributed to Paligen’s Chemical and Aerospace & Defense, Nitradyn, and McCormick Stevenson teams, who are applying their wide range of deep expertise and capabilities to building and ultimately operating this emerging, innovative manufacturing center.

  • Paligen Chemical provides world-class engineering, and cutting-edge research and development of energetic molecules in collaboration with our network of trusted partners.   Our team’s deep industrial knowledge also advances the synthesis, production, and mixing of energetic materials and propellants through advanced technologies and modernized practices.   In addition to strengthening the nation’s supply of critical munitions, Paligen Chemical provides advanced chemical manufacturing plants, from the initial design through long-term operations. These facilities incorporate technologies capable of delivering a variety of explosive materials and mixtures, including explosive powders (PETN, RDX, and HMX), castable products (TNT, Comp. B, and IMX-104), and other castable and moldable CXM/PBX materials.   Paligen Chemical will continue to revitalize the industrial base with the development of the first U.S. domestic TNT facility in the United States since the 1980s.   Through these solutions, we build modern chemical production capacity across the country and restore critical manufacturing capability to the U.S. industry.
