The AI Operating System for Dealerships

About us

Numa is the AI Customer Operations System built for automotive dealerships. We fix why calls go uanswered, why advisors & reps spend their day on status updates instead of selling, why managers get blindsided by bad CSI reviews, and why every department operates in its own silo. Numa's AI agents answer and route every call, book appointments automatically, send proactive RO status updates, flag heat cases before CSI takes the hit, follow up on declined services and equity opportunities, and give managers full visibility into every customer communication across every department. All min one inbox and one shared context. Numa is the only auto dealership AI trusted by 1000+ dealers. Numa is also the only dealership AI that blends Silicon Valley DNA with Automotive DNA. Silicon Valley serial entrepreneurs, 50+ AI / Machine Learning & PhD Engineers and 150+ years combined of dealership GM experience. It’s like if Roger Penske and Steve Jobs joined forces to raise $50M from Google, Mitsui (500+ rooftops) and Tesla’s founding investor to build AI for dealerships. Numa tackles the dealership communication crisis head-on. We’ve handled 20M calls for dealers in the last year (10% appointment related). Because Numa is a shared inbox for customer comms, we give dealership leaders unprecedented visibility into communications... and the accountability that comes with it. No more wondering how many customers are behind those red blinking lights on your phones and who hasn’t responded. With Numa, dealers respond faster. From 23 hrs average to under 20 min. We rescue thousands of ROs and millions of RO $ per year, per rooftop. Also, dealer service advisors love working in Numa. They learn and ramp faster and stay longer, saving dealerships countless $ in training, recruiting and lost productivity.

A customer calls about a grinding noise. They tell the person who answers. They get transferred and tell the service desk again. The advisor calls back after lunch and hears the whole thing a third time, from the beginning, because nothing from the first two made it that far. Nobody at that store did anything wrong. What the customer said the first two times had nowhere to go. The standard is simple. A customer tells their story once. Every conversation with that customer sits in one shared inbox the whole store works from, so whoever picks up next is already caught up. A customer who never starts over feels known, and feeling known is what brings people back to a service drive.

"I would have killed for something that could have just summarized them all." A BDC manager said that to our team last week. She was talking about her phone calls. Her mornings used to start with yesterday's recordings, one at a time, until the drive got busy and the rest went unheard. Now, Numa writes up every recorded call at her car dealership into a few lines she can read. It also flags the calls where a customer is unhappy. She reads the whole day's calls in a few minutes, and the rest of the morning goes to the two or three more customers who need a person right now.

Four straight years on the Inc. 5000. Inc. just released its 2026 list of America's fastest-growing private companies. Numa came in at No. 443, our third straight year in the top 500, with 793% revenue growth over three years. We owe that growth to the dealerships that worked with us year after year, then told other dealers what changed. That trust is the whole story. We plan to keep earning it, doing more of the work inside the dealership every year. One system, and Numa not only knows your customers but knows what they need.

Between 2 and 5 in the afternoon, about three out of four calls into a service department are the same question. Is my car ready? Those calls land in one line with everything else, in the order they dialed. The customer checking on their car waits ahead of a new customer trying to book an oil change, who waits ahead of a customer with a repair decision to talk through. Your advisors work the line top to bottom, between the customers standing at the desk. It reads as a staffing problem, but it's far from it. Sort by what each call is instead of when it came in. The customer with the repair decision gets an advisor without the wait. And status updates go out automatically. The full playbook for routing service calls at a car dealership is on the Numa blog this week. Link in the first comment.

Here are a few metrics that your dealership needs to pay attention to in the age of AI in 2026 and fix to GROW your dealership. One of our strategic partners at the Auto Hub Show is NUMA (backed by Google Ventures), by the way. 50% of the inbound service calls are missed every single day! 80% of the missed calls are for status updates in service!
