Today we had the pleasure of welcoming Mr Fluksman Samuehl, the Chairperson of the Public Enterprises CEO Forum, for a courtesy engagement with our CEO, Mr Erick Fundula Nenghwanya. Discussions focused on the NTA’s important role in national development through responsive skills development, as well as opportunities for greater collaboration among public enterprises. Mr Samuehl also highlighted emerging economic opportunities around Namibia's southern coastal areas and the need to ensure that vocational skills development keeps pace with the country’s growth and future workforce needs. The engagement comes at an important time for Namibia’s public enterprise sector, following President Dr Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah’s recent engagement with public enterprise leaders and her call for institutions to strengthen delivery, accountability and collaboration in advancing national development. Reflecting on the President’s message, Mr Samuehl described the NTA as a key institution in Namibia’s development and stressed that collaboration among public enterprises is essential if institutions are to deliver greater collective impact. Mr Nenghwanya reaffirmed the NTA’s commitment to working with fellow public enterprises and other partners to develop the skills Namibia needs for sustainable economic growth. #NTA #TVET #PublicEnterprises #NationalDevelopment #WePutTrainingToWork

Today we reaffirmed our commitment to building a skilled and employable generation by awarding N$1.05 million to seven schools across seven regions through the 2026/27 Pre-Vocational Education Support Awards. Each beneficiary school received N$150,000.00 to strengthen the teaching of pre-vocational subjects that will expose learners to technical and vocational careers from an early age. The awards, presented at the NTA Village Hall in Windhoek, form part of our broader strategy to strengthen Namibia's skills pipeline and ensure more young people are prepared for vocational training, employment and entrepreneurship. Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sport, Arts and Culture, Honourable Dino Ballotti, described the initiative as an investment in equity and opportunity, emphasising that every learner deserves access to quality technical and vocational education, regardless of where they live. The beneficiary schools are: //Garibams Secondary School (//Kharas) Haudano Secondary School (Omusati) Namavambi Combined School (Kavango West) Nossob Combined School (Omaheke) Nsundano Secondary School (Zambezi) Oluwaya Combined School (Ohangwena) Putuavanga Junior Secondary School (Kunene) #NTA #TVET #WePutSkillsToWork

NTA Manager: Assessment and Certification, Nicoletta Kooper-Kolomoni, today officially opened the E-Assessment Instrument Design Training Workshop. Namibia's TVET landscape is at an exciting digital crossroads - and this training arrives at precisely the right moment. As assessment moves into the digital space, the principles that govern credible, fair, and legally defensible qualifications must move with it, because behind every qualification is a person whose future depends on it. Our assessment instrument designers are the custodians of standards that determine whether a Namibian trainee secures employment, builds a career, and contributes meaningfully to Namibia's economy. That is the weight of this work and that is why it matters profoundly. So what exactly is e-assessment? It is not an entirely new concept - it is the digitisation of the formal assessment process we already know. The theoretical component of vocational assessments will move online, while practical assessments remain hands-on. Same rigour. Same standards. A smarter, more accessible delivery. Guided by distinguished facilitator Prof. Anthony Brown of the University of South Africa (UNISA) and made possible through the sustained partnership of GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit), this programme equips practitioners to design e-assessment instruments that are valid, reliable, fair, and fully compliant with Regulation 318 of the Vocational Education and Training Act, Act 1 of 2008. The Namibia Training Authority was established to build a TVET system that is responsive, credible, and aligned to the needs of our people. Today, we take another step toward that goal. #NTA #TVET #EAssessment #MakingSkillsWork #GIZ #UNISA
