Throughout the program, nine Assistant Store Managers will participate in mentorship, cross-functional learning, hands-on experiences, and a capstone project, all designed to support their continued growth as leaders. Building on the foundation of our Emerging Leaders program, the Retail Leadership Academy reflects our commitment to developing talent from within and creating meaningful opportunities for career growth and professional development. This June, Senior Design Director Ria Hayes celebrated 10 years with Michael Kors. When asked what has inspired her tenure with the brand, her answer was simple: "The people, without question." "One of the things that has kept me at Michael Kors for a decade is the team culture. We work incredibly hard, but we genuinely enjoy working together. I always look forward to our in-office days because they're filled with collaboration, creativity, and a lot of laughter." Ria also credits the trust she's been given throughout her career: "Having managers who trust your creativity and give you the freedom to do your best work has been a huge part of my journey." Reflecting on the past decade, one of her favorite memories comes from traveling with colleagues around the world. "The days can be long and demanding, but it's also where some of the strongest relationships are built. Sitting down together after a long day, sharing a meal and talking about work, family, challenges, and ideas, is when you really get to know your colleagues on a deeper level. "I joined Michael Kors in May 2015 as a District Manager for Spain and Portugal. I completely fell in love with the brand during the interview process and knew it was the right move. “We’re always evolving and there’s never a moment to be bored. The opening of our new Michael Kors store at Freeport Lisboa Fashion Outlet marks an exciting milestone, and it's also an opportunity to celebrate the people behind it. Since joining Michael Kors as Store Manager in Puerto Banús in 2021, Daniel Fernández de Fez has embraced every opportunity to learn, grow, and lead. His journey has taken him from leading one of our iconic stores, to District Manager for our Full Price business in Spain, and now to overseeing our Outlet business across France, Spain, and Portugal. Most recently, Daniel played a key role in bringing our new Freeport Lisboa store to life, gaining hands-on experience across every stage of a new store opening, from planning through execution. Throughout his career, Daniel has been supported by leaders who facilitated his development, providing guidance, trust, and opportunities to take on new challenges. When customers walk into our stores, their experience is shaped by a partnership between our store teams and leaders like Erin Daly, Regional Visual Manager, US East & Canada. From product presentation to visual storytelling, Erin helps bring our brand to life while supporting the execution of visual standards. Erin began her journey with Michael Kors in 2018 as a Sales Supervisor. There, she found herself drawn to visual merchandising, a fascination that would ultimately guide her career path. As Erin shares, "I quickly found a passion for visual merchandising at this location, where I was inspired by the creativity and impact of storytelling through product presentation. What started as an interest soon became my primary focus, and I proudly carried visual merchandising as my passion and responsibility for several years." In 2022, she joined the corporate team as a Visual Manager for the East Coast and Canada. Reflecting on what inspired her growth, Erin credits the people around her: "The support and encouragement from my team in-store, combined with the belief my corporate partners had in me, gave me the confidence to grow beyond my current role.
