⭐ METRA STARS ⭐ Sometimes the smallest acts of kindness have the biggest impact. Recently, a parent traveling through Chicago Union Station found the experience overwhelming. In the stress of navigating an unfamiliar station, a Metra employee noticed and stepped in to help. The rider later wrote to us to recognize this employee's compassion, patience, and professionalism, noting that employees like him make travel feel safe and welcoming. Today, we celebrated 100 years of Electrification by passing out posters and snacks to riders at all downtown stations. ⭐ Metra Service Stars: Nick ⭐ Losing your phone can make your ordinary commute into an extra stressful day. For this rider, a lost phone could have meant a costly replacement, but thanks to a fellow passenger and the quick actions of Conductor Nick, it was safely returned. After the phone was turned in, Nick helped connect the rider with the right people and provided clear instructions so the phone could be picked up when the train returned to Downers Grove. When the rider tried to thank Nick with a reward, Nick politely declined. It's moments like these that remind us how small acts of kindness can make a big difference in someone's day. Built Today. Better Travels Tomorrow! This new social media series will be highlight Metra's external project work activities and how it provides a meaningful impact to rider benefits. We're aiming to increase public understanding of infrastructure projects while reinforcing Metra's role as a responsible steward of public investment. We are so proud of our latest milestone! On Wednesday, July 1, Metra announced the completion of a multi-year project that fully rehabilitated 302 railcars.
