Starting a new internship can feel overwhelming. What should you wear? How do you make a good impression? What if you don't have a hospitality background? We asked Emeline Valeck and Lynn Noorman van der Dussen, two Marriott interns, to share what they wish they knew before day one. Their advice goes beyond first-day nerves and reveals something bigger about the Marriott experience. One takeaway stood out: "You don't have to be a hospitality major to work here. There are people doing law, finance, design, technology, and more." If you're exploring internship opportunities or wondering where your career could begin, their insights give you a look at what it's like to learn, grow, and build connections at Marriott. Before your first day, learn from those who've already been there. Here's what they'd wish they'd known: https://marr.in/6045B1OLol #BeginBelongBecome #LifeAtMarriott #EarlyCareers

What keeps someone connected to a company for decades? For Edson, the answer is people, purpose, and a sense of belonging. When he spent Christmas Day with his wife and daughter at The Westin Santa Fe, Mexico City through Explore by Marriott Bonvoy, it was more than a family getaway. It was an opportunity to share with his loved ones the company that helped shape his career journey, beginning at age 19. Experiences like this reflect our commitment to supporting associates both inside and outside of work. Through the Explore Program, eligible associates can create meaningful memories with family, experience Marriott properties around the world, and see hospitality through the eyes of a guest. See how we invest in associates at work, at home, and everywhere in between: https://marr.in/6040B1JxNK #ExplorebyMarriottBonvoy #OutOfOffice #BeginBelongBecome

Belonging starts here. Starting out at a global organization can be exciting but also intimidating. With so many roles, teams, and pathways, it's not always easy to know where to begin or how to find your people. That's where Associate Resource Groups (ARG) come in. At Marriott, they play an important part in helping associates feel connected, supported, and empowered from day one. Our #YoungProfessionals ARG is one of nine ARGs, and is dedicated to helping associates build connections, explore new ideas, and develop both personally and professionally. In this spotlight, jessica lee, Executive Sponsor of the Young Professionals ARG, shares her insight on why investing in community and development early in your career can set the foundation for long-term success. Discover how our ARGs help associates build connections, grow their skills, celebrate their backgrounds, and give back: https://marr.in/6049BE7XLv #BeginBelongBecome #BeYou

What if one person's lived experience could help create a more welcoming environment for associates and guests alike? That's exactly what Leah has done. Born with a visual disability, Leah transformed her personal experiences into action by creating a disability awareness training program that's now part of her hotel's onboarding experience. Her goal wasn't simply to raise awareness. It was to help associates better understand one another, create more inclusive experiences, and foster a workplace where people feel comfortable bringing their whole selves to work. Reflecting on one of her proudest Marriott moments, Leah shared: "I realized how many people could relate to feeling uncomfortable or vulnerable at times. That day, I felt a true sense of camaraderie and support." This Disability Pride Month, we're celebrating Leah and others with the courage to share their experiences and use them to create positive change. Read Leah's full story and learn how she's helping advance accessibility and inclusion at Marriott: https://marr.in/6046BE23Jj #BeginBelongBecome #LifeAtMarriott #BeYou
