  • Markets don't usually break because capital is scarce - they break because capital is stuck in the wrong place at the wrong time. In her latest article for CoinDesk, our Managing Director of Digital Assets, Jenna Wright, unpacked why institutions with plenty of capital and collateral to hand still got forced out of positions during this year's volatility - and why stablecoins and tokenisation are becoming the infrastructure that finally lets money move as fast as risk.

  • Payment providers need infrastructure that scales as fast as they do. Omnia Exchange and Monavate have partnered to give Monavate access to LMAX Group's institutional liquidity and execution infrastructure through a single connection. It means access to liquidity across digital assets, stablecoins and fiat, and more efficient execution and settlement - without the complexity of managing each of those independently.

  • What does it actually take to lead a fintech through change? In her recent Q&A with Authority Magazine, Barbara Pozdorovkina, Chief Growth Officer at LMAX Group, shares the five things she believes it takes to be a highly effective C-level leader in fintech, drawn from more than a decade helping to build LMAX Group from an institutional FX exchange into a global cross-asset marketplace. Her core message: strategy only matters if it's executed. Barbara points to prioritising tangible opportunities over theoretical ones, staying humble enough to pivot, the importance of cross-functional collaboration and resourcefulness, and building for relevance across market cycles. • Today we're announcing a new partnership between Omnia Exchange and Monavate. Through Omnia, Monavate now accesses LMAX Group's institutional liquidity and execution infrastructure through a single connection - streamlining backend payment operations and settlement for one of the industry's fastest-growing card issuing platforms. Monavate has issued more than 6.3 million cards and processed over $13.5B in payments to date. This partnership gives that business the institutional-grade infrastructure to keep scaling, without adding complexity. Clarity is not adoption. While the digital asset markets wait with baited breath on developments around the Clarity Act, the long-term trend of institutional adoption continues, undeterred. Hear the latest thoughts from LMAX Group Market Strategist, Joel Kruger, in his latest Market Pulse.

  • Singapore has become one of the most important places in the world to trade FX. In his recent feature for e-Forex, Daniel Karakanna, Global Head of Financial Institutions at LMAX Exchange, unpacks why the city-state has cemented itself as Asia's institutional FX hub, and where the next phase of growth is coming from. Singapore's rise isn't accidental. Regulatory clarity, targeted infrastructure investment and sustained institutional participation have combined to build one of the deepest FX ecosystems in the region. Matching engines, low-latency infrastructure and strong digital connectivity have materially improved execution for regional participants, while tokenisation and cross-border market access initiatives are laying the groundwork for scalable market structure. Daniel also points to a clear driver behind rising demand for NDFs, FX swaps and other more complex instruments: firms need better tools to manage currency risk around macro uncertainty. These instruments are becoming essential for hedging spot exposure and interest rate risk in emerging markets - and electronification is making liquidity more efficient and transparent to access. It's a picture of a market maturing fast - one where price discovery is becoming more geographically distributed, and where Asian trading hours are playing an increasingly important role in shaping global FX dynamics.

  • At LMAX Group, we believe in building fairer markets — starting with levelling the playing field for the next generation. We've been running a three-part programme throughout the month of July with Access, a Singapore-based social mobility charity supporting underserved young people through education, mentoring and career readiness. Students have met their LMAX mentors through a Human Library activity, explored career pathways via a quiz, and joined masterclasses on communication and financial trading. With the final session ahead, we're excited to keep helping students build the skills and confidence they need for future success!

  • The yen just staged its sharpest reversal off a 40-year low — and it wasn't intervention that did it. USD/JPY snapped back from 163.24 on Wednesday on reports the BOJ could hike faster than expected. Policy divergence, not Tokyo's finance ministry, is moving this market. In his recent commentary for Reuters, Joel Kruger, market strategist at LMAX Group, weighed in on the other side of the dollar story — U.S. inflation. He noted that cooler-than-expected U.S. inflation data has taken pressure off the Fed to tighten further, which is capping the dollar's upside even as Treasury yields stay elevated. With the 30-year yield brushing 5.15% and Brent crude at a six-week high, markets are having to price growth, inflation, and central bank credibility all at once — and currencies are where that tension shows up first. • Standard Chartered and LMAX Group completed the first live bank-grade crypto prime brokerage trades earlier this month, settling spot #Bitcoin and #Ether through a bank-grade credit model. In his latest commentary for BitBullNews, Chris Knight, Managing Director of LMAX Digital, explains that the barrier to further institutional adoption has never been technology, but market structure. The pilot validated credit approval, margining, risk management, trade booking, settlement and reporting - with capital efficiency, not volume, the real prize on offer. Chris is clear this isn't about competing with existing crypto prime brokers, but opening a route to market for institutions that have been waiting for bank-grade infrastructure before entering the space.
