RDC is proud to announce its participation in a landmark transaction: the first-ever Bitcoin Depositary Receipt (BTC DR) trades have been executed through Clear Street's prime brokerage platform. As the first depositary to issue DRs on digital and alternative assets, RDC issued the BTC DRs that were traded by institutional clients UTXO Management and GTS through Clear Street's prime brokerage infrastructure and settled through the Depository Trust Company (DTC). Bitcoin underlying the DRs is held at Anchorage Digital Bank N.A., the first federally chartered crypto bank in the U.S., in a bankruptcy-remote, segregated custody structure. BTC DRs can also be converted intraday on an in-kind basis into the underlying Bitcoin, giving institutions maximum flexibility. This transaction is a powerful validation of growing institutional demand for DR structures — and a clear signal of what's possible as we continue expanding our platform.
