Developing the next generation of builders is part of how we do business. Today, we're celebrating 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝘆. Stop by any Layton jobsite and you'll probably meet an intern working alongside a team that takes mentorship seriously. This year, we welcomed 210 interns from more than 40 colleges and universities across the country and gave them exposure to the business at every level. 71% of our past interns have returned for another internship or accepted a full-time role. And it's not unusual to meet a senior leader at Layton and learn they started as an intern. 𝗧𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿'𝘀 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀: thanks for showing up, asking questions, and jumping in. We're better for it. 𝟰𝟲 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗱𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁. In 2024, build-to-rent (BTR) completions hit an all-time high, and the demand hasn't slowed. We sat down with members of our BTR team and a developer partner to break down how Layton is approaching this growing sector. One thing we know for sure: BTR requires a different kind of builder, one that can scale, coordinate complex trades, and deliver predictable outcomes through technology and preconstruction services. "These are the kinds of projects that demand versatility, and that's exactly where Layton's commercial expertise pays off," said Larry B. Johnson, who oversees BTR construction at Layton. Some of our California team members spent a Saturday morning with Habitat for Humanity helping rehab a donated home in Bakersfield. They cut down trees, cleared the backyard of concrete debris, and swapped out some hardware inside. By noon it was over 100 degrees. The house was donated by a local couple and is being restored to serve a new family. Our crew worked alongside volunteers from all backgrounds—teachers, chemists, longtime Habitat regulars—all giving their free time to get this one across the finish line. We love supporting the communities where we live and work. Thank you Habitat for Humanity for the opportunity to show up!

In West Texas, people sometimes drive hours for healthcare. Midland Memorial Hospital is one of the anchors serving the Permian Basin and the rural communities surrounding it. We just wrapped a multi-phase modernization that touched nearly every corner of the facility. The project included a three-story courtyard infill, a two-story northeast infill, vertical expansion above the third floor, and a new four-story medical office building connected to the main campus by a shaded pedestrian canopy. With three offices in Texas and 13 more nationwide, we have the reach to build wherever our clients need us. But it takes the right team to build in regions like this. Building on an active airport means coordinating around flights, passengers, and security every single day. We're in the middle of a 95,406 SF expansion at Provo Airport - PVU in Utah. This regional airport is getting expanded ticketing and queuing areas, four additional departure gates, and reconfigured outbound baggage handling system with new conveyors. Planes keep flying, construction keeps moving, and completion is set for Spring 2028!

𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗙𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿'𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗛𝗤. 𝟳𝟴,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗦𝗙 𝗼𝗳 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗼𝘀, 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮 𝗸𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗺 𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗲 🤘. When Fender consolidated two Scottsdale office locations into one headquarters, the facility had to contain amplifier failure testing without shaking the desks upstairs, meet recording-studio-grade acoustic standards, and reflect the culture of one of the most iconic brands in music. What does it take for two construction companies to build like one? Just ask our Layton and Abbott Construction teams who've delivered $1.25B in combined projects over the past seven years. But this isn't a joint venture. It's a true partnership under common ownership within STO Building Group. The most recent and notable project completed together is Mary Bridge Children's Hospital in Tacoma, WA. "They are one of the only reasons that we will open this facility," said Brandon Kristol, Associate Vice President of Hospital Operations at Mary Bridge. There’s nothing better than opening our jobsites to the next generation of builders! We welcomed ACE Mentor Program of America externship students to spend a day in the life at Layton Construction in #Nashville. From touring our Skyline Medical Center and Ray Nashville projects to hearing from our project teams, the day was filled with learning, mentorship, and great conversations. The future of construction is bright and we’re proud to play a part in inspiring the next generation. 𝗕𝗶𝗴 𝗻𝗲𝘄𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲!🏥 HCA Florida Palms West Hospital is expanding. This 72,184 SF addition brings 42 new patient rooms, a renovated main entrance, and something we're especially proud of: two classrooms dedicated to training Florida's next generation of healthcare professionals. With Florida facing a shortage of nearly 18,000 doctors by 2030, projects like this help train and retain the healthcare workers our communities need. This is our 29th project with HCA Florida Healthcare, and were proud to have celebrated this topping out milestone together.
