Curious what Sia/LBG PMs are discussing this month? In this month's Sia/LBG PMO Perspectives, Consultant Masoudeh Masoud Bahnamiri, PhD led an interactive discussion on one of the most common—but often overlooked—causes of project delays: decision latency. The conversation explored how projects can stall despite busy teams, examining the organizational and behavioral factors that slow momentum, including unclear decision ownership, endless review cycles, competing stakeholder priorities, and fear of making the wrong decision. The group also shared practical strategies for accelerating decisions through clearer accountability, stronger communication, thoughtful escalation, and data-driven recommendations. What's the biggest source of decision latency you've encountered on a project, and what approaches have helped move decisions forward? Share your thoughts in the comments! #ProjectManagement #PMO #Leadership #DecisionMaking #ProjectDelivery

Many pharmaceutical organizations still rely on disconnected spreadsheets to evaluate product costs. The challenge isn't that the models are wrong. It's that critical development, manufacturing, and investment decisions are often being made using fragmented data, inconsistent assumptions, and limited visibility into cost drivers. What if cost modeling became a strategic asset rather than a periodic exercise? By digitizing Cost of Goods (COGs) modeling and integrating it into the broader product development process, organizations can: - Evaluate multiple development pathways earlier - Compare manufacturing scenarios in real time - Improve cross-functional collaboration - Standardize assumptions and data management - Accelerate decision-making across R&D, CMC, Operations, and Finance The real value isn't simply calculating costs more efficiently. It's enabling teams to make better decisions earlier—when there is still time to influence outcomes. As product development becomes increasingly complex, the organizations that connect scientific expertise, cost intelligence, and digital tools will be best positioned to optimize development timelines, improve commercial readiness, and drive long-term value. Congratulations to our colleagues Lauren Schoukroun Barnes, PhD, PMP, CSCP, RAC and Chris Peterson, who co-authored a new peer-reviewed study in PLOS Global Public Health, alongside Shankar Suryanarayanan and an outstanding research team from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, in collaboration with the Gates Foundation. A special shout-out to the Hopkins team, and to Jean Christophe Rusatira in particular, for leading this important effort. The paper introduces a term for a practice the industry has long discussed but rarely named: “tiered manufacturing.” Drawing on 31 in-depth interviews with pharmaceutical development, manufacturing, procurement, and regulatory experts, the study documents how the same medicine can be produced to different standards depending on its destination market. The authors argue that tiered manufacturing should be recognized as a commercial determinant of health. They also highlight practical levers to help close the gap, including: ✔️ Regulatory reliance on WHO prequalification and approvals from stringent regulatory authorities ✔️ Quality-based procurement requirements ✔️ Greater transparency across the supply chain ✔️ Sustained investment in local manufacturing and regulatory capacity This is an important contribution to the conversation on medicine quality, equity, and global health; and a reminder that access must mean access to products of assured quality, everywhere. 📖 Read the full open-access paper: https://lnkd.in/gvrHM7jK #GlobalHealth #PharmaceuticalQuality #HealthEquity #DrugRegulation #CommercialDeterminantsOfHealth

#ThrowbackThursday to Austin! Looking back to our All Hands in Austin this past February captured here as part of the team headed home after a great few days together. From productive sessions to team bonding (and a few airport laughs), it was an energizing time to connect, collaborate, and align on what’s ahead for Sia/LBG. Even a few months later, the impact and the momentum are still going strong. Grateful for a team that brings both expertise and enthusiasm to everything we do wherever we are. #TBT #TeamCulture #LifeAtSIA #Collaboration #ConsultingLife

Exciting News from Sia LBG! We are thrilled to announce that we are working with Alliance Healing Technologies (AHT) on a strategic project centered around the licensing/divestiture of their groundbreaking wound care product, the Acutarex PDR 60 Healing System. This is the only commercially available, FDA 510(k)-cleared wound care product that actively promotes tissue growth and restores balance at the cellular level for chronic wound patients. The product improves wound care efficacy and significantly reduces patient recovery time from >90 to <60 days; thereby freeing up hospital capacity, reducing doctor visits and insurance payouts, reducing follow-on complications, and lowering costs to individual patients. The global wound care market is currently valued at nearly $25 billion, and more specifically, the global advanced wound care dressing market is valued at nearly $4 billion (USD) annually. With an aging population and an increasing prevalence of chronic wounds from primary disease indications that include Diabetic Foot Ulcers, Pressure Ulcers, Venous Leg Ulcers, Surgical and Traumatic Wounds, and Burns; there is a real need for a product like this and a unique opportunity to enter or expand within this lucrative market. Potential interest in this asset? Reach out to Michael McGinnis (Managing Partner, Sia LBG) at contact@alliancehealingtech.com for more information or to schedule an introductory meeting. #WoundCare #WoundHealing #ChronicWounds Alliance Healing Technologies, LLC
