With #WCLC26 just one month away, the Journal of Thoracic Oncology is reflecting on 20 years of patient advocacy and the individuals and organizations that have helped drive meaningful change across the lung cancer community. Patient advocates have challenged stigma, raised awareness of persistent gaps in funding and care, elevated the patient voice, and helped ensure that research and treatment continue moving toward what matters most to patients. There is still work to do, but the evolution of patient advocacy over the past two decades demonstrates the impact patients and advocates can have on the future of lung cancer care.
