#CaseHighlight | Dr. Joseph Mendelis of Thousand Oaks Surgical Hospital recently completed his 12th case utilizing the ExcelsiusGPS System to navigate freehand instruments. The 62-year-old patient presented with L4-L5 spondylolisthesis requiring a transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion (TLIF). Utilizing ExcelsiusGPS™ for planning and freehand navigation, Dr. Mendelis placed Reline™ pedicle screws and a SABLE™ expandable cage. He also incorporated the DuraPro™ Oscillating System for pilot hole creation and bone removal as part of the navigated workflow. Afterwards, Dr. Mendelis shared, “ExcelsiusGPS™ provides me the flexibility to swap between freehand navigation and the robotic arm. This proved extremely helpful in this particular case because I was able to maintain a smaller incision with the freehand instruments and still achieve phenomenal results in terms of implant placement.” We are proud to support surgeons like Dr. Mendelis as they continue to leverage enabling technologies to help deliver advanced spine care for patients in the Southern California community. #ExcelsiusGPS #SpineSurgery #FreehandNavigation #SABLE #Reline #DuraPro #MIS #TLIF #GlobusMedical Southern California Orthopedic Institute

#CaseHighlight | Dr. Andrew Choo of UTHealth Houston treated a complex elbow fracture involving an open distal humerus fracture and a Monteggia fracture. Dr. Choo utilized the ANTHEM™ Elbow Fracture System to treat the complex elbow injury. He used a long 2.5mm + Recon Plate to address both the olecranon osteotomy and to supplement the Monteggia fixation along with Medial and Flanged Posterolateral Plates to treat the distal humerus. Dr. Choo shared, “The anatomic distal humerus plates fit excellently and did not require any contouring. I was able to maximize distal fixation in the humerus using multiple multiplanar 2.7mm screws.” Learn more about ANTHEM™ Elbow at https://hubs.la/Q04qhmVV0 #ANTHEMElbow #OrthopedicTrauma #UpperExtremity #FractureFixation #GlobusMedical UTHealth Houston

#CaseHighlight | Dr. Dennis Dominguez, Dr. Khalid Al Taha, and Dr. Halah Stern recently completed a complex spinal fusion case that utilized a simultaneous lateral anterior lumbar interbody fusion (XALIF), eXtreme lumbar interbody fusion (XLIF™), and posterior fixation approach. With the patient positioned on their side, the surgeons started an XALIF and XLIF™, traditionally placing XLIF™ CoRoent™ HL for the L4-L5 level and Modulus™ ALIF for the L5-S1 level, respectively. Lastly, they used the ExcelsiusGPS™ robot to plan and navigate the placement of CREO MIS™ screws from L4 to the pelvis. The procedure was completed with less than 100cc of blood loss, underscoring the efficiency of the minimally invasive approach. Congratulations to the multidisciplinary teamwork of the Hôpitaux Universitaires de Genève (HUG) OrthoSpine team. #Geneva #Switzerland #ExcelsiusGPS #SpineSurgery #RoboticNavigation #DeformityCorrection #XLIF #MinimallyInvasiveSurgery #GlobusMedical HUG - Hôpitaux Universitaires de Genève
