We're excited to welcome two leading experts in advanced bronchoscopy and interventional pulmonology: Dr. Justin Thomas, MD, serves as Medical Director of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine at Eisenhower Health, Director of Interventional Pulmonology and the Bronchoscopy Lab, as well as Director of the Lung Cancer Screening and Lung Nodule Clinic. He also serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of California, Riverside. Dr. Michael Pritchett, DO, MPH, is the Director of the Chest Center of the Carolinas at FirstHealth. He co-founded The Society for Advanced Bronchoscopy and served as the previous president. Dr. Pritchett performed the first robotic bronchoscopy procedures in the US with the Ion platform by Intuitive and performed the first Galvanize Aliya PEF ablation with the Intuitive Ion platform. Exciting news! The first commercial procedures using our recently FDA-cleared Aliya® EX System have been completed. The Aliya EX Generator expands the Aliya PEF portfolio by enabling interventions across a broader range of lesion sizes through an up-to 7x larger ablation zone. The first percutaneous procedure was performed by Joseph Mammarappallil, M.D., Associate Professor of Radiology at Duke University School of Medicine, and the first endoscopic procedure was performed by Justin Thomas, M.D., Director of Interventional Pulmonology at Eisenhower Health. Aliya EX maintains the core attributes of Aliya PEF energy, including predictable nonthermal ablation, a favorable safety profile, compatibility with existing workflows and therapies, and the potential for immune activation.
