  • During last night’s Town Council meeting, Town Manager James Childers and Mayor Cheryl Moore recognized multiple employees for the many years of service they’ve dedicated to Flower Mound. ❤️ Each celebrating 15 years with the Town, they recognized Property Standards Manager Christa Crowe, Sergeant Cristopher Womack, Sergeant James Pulis, and School Resource Officer Traci Hooper. We’d also like to recognize some employees who weren’t able to join us for this meeting, including Detective Brandon Belk for 15 years of service, Deputy Town Marshal Judy Broderick for 20 years of service, and Police Officer Joe Gray for 25 years of service. • It's the first day of school for our School Resource Officers! 🍎✏️ We decided to start the new school year off with a little prank. Thankfully, all our SROs are great sports. Here are the questions they actually answered: 1. How many years have you been an SRO? 2. In your opinion, what’s the cutest animal? 3. Would you eat a spider for $10,000? 4. Jags or Marauders? 5. Would you kiss a live rattlesnake for $10 6. If you could be naturally talented at one thing, what would it be? 7. Who’s your favorite celebrity? 8. What’s your favorite time of day? We’re so excited for another fun year with these SROs! 💚💙

  • As National Park and Recreation Month comes to end, we want to express our gratitude for all the amazing people who make Flower Mound’s park and recreation amenities some of the best in Texas. If you enjoyed a Flower Mound park, trail, or recreation program this July (or any time really), please know that it was made possible by our staff who approach their work with unmatched dedication and care. 💚💙

  • Peters Colony Memorial Park is officially open! Thank you to everyone who joined us for last night’s ribbon cutting and to all who played a role in bringing this beautiful park to life. Designed as a tribute to past, present, and future residents, the park (at 3201 Peters Colony Rd., adjacent to the Flower Mound Public Library) is truly a unique addition to Flower Mound.   We must also give a special thank you to Flower Mound centenarian Doug Brown for his many years of service to the community. It was a privilege to have him in attendance as we dedicated the Chief Warrant Officer Douglas A. Brown Veterans Plaza in recognition of his service.

  • The Town of Flower Mound has once again earned the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for its budget beginning Oct. 1, 2025. This is the 34th consecutive year that the Town has received this award, which reflects the commitment of Flower Mound’s leadership and staff to meet the highest principal of governmental budgeting. The award specifically represents a significant achievement by staff members in Flower Mound’s Budget & Strategy and Finance departments, who had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines in four key categories to receive the award. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this legacy of excellence over the past 34 years!

  • Flower Mound is the #3 best place to live in the country! 🎉 U.S. News and World Report, a global leader in rankings and consumer advice, released their 2026-2027 Best Places to Live report this morning. In Texas, Flower Mound earned the #1 spot. The report evaluated more than 850 of the country’s top cities based on how well they meet residents’ living expectations, with measures including value, job market, desirability, and quality of life. In addition to these measures, the ranking was informed in part by a nationwide public survey measuring the qualities people value most in a place to live, along with data from a variety of government, private-sector, and U.S. News’ internal resources.
