Learning starts in the brain! Last week, the Evidence-Based AI in Learning (EVAL) Industry Collaborative at Boston University team and our high school interns visited the McGovern Institute for Brain Research at MIT to learn about neuroimaging and explore how brain science can inform education. Thank you Ola Ozernov-Palchik for the incredible experience!

Research on AI applications in education is evolving rapidly, yet we still hear from schools that they do not feel they are moving at the pace needed to understand and adopt AI. Tomorrow, as part of the TECH WEEK by a16z, we will discuss where these gaps exist and how we can better translate research into scalable learning applications. I’ll be sharing more about the initiatives at #MAAIHub with Vishal Iyer, learning more about who is in the room, and I’ll be joined by an incredible panel bringing perspectives from research, emerging technologies, edtech, and ecosystem building. What does the future of education look like in the age of AI? This question brought together educators, researchers, developers, students, and organizations at the #MAAIHub x Sundai - Reimagining Education with AI event to explore how AI can support learning in responsible, human-centered, and meaningful ways. From AI tutors and personalized learning pathways to educator tools and new learning models, the event focused on building and discussing solutions that can help shape the future of education. Excited to have represented Aikreate as one of the participating partners alongside organizations including Theona – AI Brain for Your Team, The Open Accelerator, Maritime, and Evidence-Based AI in Learning (EVAL) Industry Collaborative at Boston University. It was inspiring to collaborate with such an interdisciplinary team throughout the event, including Gabriela Torres V., Eduardo Baena, Ata Uslu, Ola Ozernov-Palchik, Jayashree Murugesan, Je Sai Kailash Pulipati , Nidhi Bali, Alicia Kaminsky, Nikolay Vyahhi, Shishir C., Arzu Gurz Abay, and many others contributing ideas and perspectives around the future of AI in education. I was especially happy to present together with Jayashree Murugesan as part of the Aikreate team, where we spoke about: • AI policy for educators • Responsible AI in education • The importance of AI literacy in schools A big thank you to Gabriela Torres V. and the organizers — Massachusetts Technology Collaborative AI Hub, Sundai, and AIxEd — for creating such a thoughtful and collaborative initiative. At Aikreate, we believe students should not only use AI, but understand, question, and create with it responsibly. The future of education will require more than access to AI tools — it will require AI literacy, critical thinking, and strong educator guidance. #AIEducation #AILiteracy #ResponsibleAI #EdTech #FutureOfEducation #AIForSchools #EducationInnovation #Aikreate #MassachusettsAIHub

We’re excited to partner with Amira to advance rigorous, independent research on AI and literacy. As AI becomes more present in reading instruction, strong evidence about what truly supports student outcomes matters more than ever.
AI is everywhere in education right now. But here’s the real question: Is it actually improving how students learn to read? A new perspective from Boston University’s Ola Ozernov-Palchik makes the case clearly: innovation can’t outrun evidence. That’s why we’re proud to be part of the Evidence-Based AI in Learning (EVAL) Industry Collaborative at Boston University’s inaugural evaluation challenge, helping build independent, rigorous research on what works in literacy. Because in reading, evidence isn’t optional. 📖 Read the full takeaway: https://lnkd.in/eBmB6vkG 🔗 BU announcement: https://lnkd.in/eb4uiZ4a #AIinEducation #ScienceOfReading #ReadingGrowth #AmiraLearning #LearningAgent #EdTechResearch #K12Leadership

Three more incredible members of the EVAL team: Erika Tinsley and Kendall Lepczyk are adapting our vocabulary instruction for younger learners, ensuring it is developmentally appropriate and engaging. Erika also leads our communications efforts. Varshini Sudhakar is developing our data collection instruments and managing communication with participating families. We are truly fortunate to have such a thoughtful and dedicated team driving this work forward.
