Investing in emerging talent strengthens both our business and the communities we serve.
This summer, six students participated in the Do it Best Group Level-Up Internship Program, contributing to meaningful work across managed marketing, supply chain, user experience design, information security, lumber and building materials, and logistics.
Their experience went well beyond observation. Interns worked on real business priorities, learned directly from company leaders, visited a member-owned store, participated in professional development, and supported Big Brothers Big Sisters through a community service project.
The program concluded with capstone presentations highlighting the impact of their work. Congratulations to Grace Schaekel, a second-year Level-Up intern and this year’s capstone scholarship recipient. Through her work in lumber and building materials, Grace helped create a more focused product assortment that reduces redundancy, improves warehouse efficiency, supports cost savings, and makes it easier for our members to stock the right products with confidence.
Programs like Level-Up help build a stronger talent pipeline for Northeast Indiana while giving students the opportunity to see how their skills can make a measurable difference for independent businesses across the country and around the world.
