A flat site became a more engaging place to play with innovative playground design. Facing strict stormwater requirements, landscape architects at GPD Group transformed Beachwood Playground in Beachwood, Ohio, using engineered play mounds that balance gradients, safety, aesthetics, and open-ended play. Minneapolis-based Cre8Play delivered an industry-first solution: lightweight GFRC play mounds with a prefabricated core that simplified installation while accommodating a variety of surfacing options.
