Budgeting. Investing. NIL income. For most college athletes, these are lessons not taught in class. That’s why this spring and summer, Chime and Budget University have been bringing a financial wellness workshop series to college athletic programs across the country, including stops at Tuskegee University and Howard University, and now Florida International University. At FIU, over 100 football players sat down for a session covering budgeting, saving, credit building, and investing, with real time spent on how to responsibly manage and grow NIL income. Because a paycheck without a plan doesn't go very far. 💚🏈

We unite everyday people to unlock their financial progress.
About us
Chime was created because we believe everyone can unlock financial progress, and we want to develop solutions and services to empower people to succeed. The premise upon which we started Chime is simple: basic banking services should be helpful, transparent, and easy. Our easy-to-use tools and intuitive platforms give members the ability to have more control over their money and to take action toward achieving their financial ambitions. By designing a member-centric banking app with easy-to-understand financial tools, we’re creating a more competitive market with options for everyday Americans. We offer access to accounts with no overdraft fees, provide members the chance to receive their pay up to 2 days early* with direct deposit, help them build credit history, and build financial literacy to hit their goals—among many other things. Since 2012, we’ve grown our team to more than 1300 Chimers across 3 offices. But more than that, we’ve expanded the products and services we offer to our members based on member feedback. And in doing so, we’ve disrupted the banking industry and changed the conversation for everyday people about money on a national level. Chime is a financial technology company, not a bank. Banking services are provided by The Bancorp Bank, N.A. or Stride Bank, N.A., Members FDIC. *Early access to direct deposit funds depends on the timing of the submission of the payment file from the payer. We generally make these funds available on the day the payment file is received, which may be up to 2 days earlier than the scheduled payment date.

The Chime Scholars Foundation® is celebrating a big milestone: we have awarded close to $10 million in scholarships to nearly 1,500 students across the country since 2022. Today, we are excited to announce the new 2026-2027 Chime Scholars Foundation cohort. Among the 800 scholars in this year’s class, 74% are first-generation college students and 100% of them are Pell-eligible, pursuing paths from four-year universities to trade schools and community colleges. Financial progress starts with access, and access means having the resources and support to reach their goals. Now in its fifth year, the scholarship program is already showing meaningful impact: our scholars graduate at nearly 2x the national average rate*. Congratulations to this year's class. 💚 Read more about the 2026–2027 class in our first comment. *87% of Chime Scholars graduate college — nearly 2x the national average for students eligible for Pell Grants.

Earned wage access has always been about helping employees make it to payday. HR.com’s latest feature explores what’s next: helping them build long-term savings. Our VP Bill Gartland shared why EWA works best as part of a broader financial wellness strategy, alongside savings, credit-building, investing, and education. It’s the approach employers like Allied Universal are taking with Chime Workplace, and one we’re already seeing make an impact. At First Student, 46% of enrolled employees started saving within two months, and 76% continued saving over time. As an early supporter of Trump Accounts, Chime has committed to matching the government's contribution for our employees' kids. Today, the U.S. Department of the Treasury released guidance for employer contributions. "Chime is proud to be among the first companies to offer an employee match for Trump Accounts, partnering with Treasury to help our employees' families begin building long-term wealth for their children," said Chime Co-founder and CEO Chris Britt. We look forward to continuing to support Trump Accounts as a corporate partner and help more American families build wealth early.

It’s no secret that investing is instrumental in building long-term wealth. A majority of Americans own stocks, but how much? Investing participation scales sharply with income, helping to grow wealth over time through the power of compounding. If you don't invest, you don't tap into that potential. According to the Federal Reserve's Survey of Consumer Finances: 📊 Top 10% of households by income: 56% own stocks directly 📊 80th–89th percentile: 40% 📊 60th–79th percentile: 22% 📊 Bottom 20%: just 7% Chime Invest™ is stepping into that space: Members can buy stocks and ETFs commission-free*, or let an expert-built managed portfolio do the work for them, all with no account balance minimums. Built into the app where members already get paid, spend, and save. Source: Federal Reserve Board, Survey of Consumer Finances (2022)

In the era of agentic AI, trust isn't just a nice-to-have. “The institutions that earn the trust to provide both the account and the agent will win the next decade.” Latest from Alex Johnson.👇
The next primary bank may not be a bank at all. As consumers spread their money across more institutions, agentic AI could become the single interface through which all our money is managed. The accounts would stay decentralized as the relationship becomes centralized. We could go from thinking about our money in terms of a "Primary Bank Account" to a "Primary Banking Agent". But is that what customers want? More importantly, is that what customers will be willing to trust? Optimizing money is much easier than being accountable for it. Consumers would still need to know: Is my money safe? Who can I talk to when there’s a problem? Who is accountable for fixing that problem? The next era of banking will, I think, be won by whoever can provide the agent *and* earn the trust required to own the account relationships behind it. If you want to know who's best positioned to become the Primary Banking Agent, and why trust may matter more than intelligence, read on here: https://lnkd.in/gZKPsA5Z (In collaboration with Chime but, as always, 100% me.)
