AI skills are becoming an important part of career readiness, but knowing how to use the technology is only part of the equation. Employers value people who can pair AI fluency with critical thinking, judgment, and an understanding of how to use these tools responsibly. Preparing learners for the workforce means developing these skills together, giving them the confidence to use AI as a tool while bringing their own thinking and expertise to the work. What happens after graduation? Increasingly, the answer is becoming a key measure of higher education’s value. As employer expectations evolve and AI reshapes entry-level work, the definition of career readiness is changing too. Graduates increasingly need: 🎓 Real-world experience that helps them apply what they’ve learned 💡 Durable workplace skills like communication, critical thinking and problem-solving 📈 Adaptability to keep learning as roles, skills and technologies evolve Our latest blog explores how employment outcomes are redefining institutional success and the opportunity higher education has to strengthen the connection between education and the workforce. 🎒 Back-to-school season is here for many learners across the Northern Hemisphere, and our employees are celebrating right alongside them by sharing photos of their family members heading into a new school year. Across Cengage, we support learners throughout their education and career journeys, from K–12 and higher education to workforce training, continuing education and lifelong learning. At every stage, our goal is to help learners build the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to succeed and prepare for what’s next. Because career readiness doesn’t begin at graduation. It develops throughout the learning journey, as people build practical skills, explore possibilities and continue adapting as careers and industries evolve. As a new academic year gets underway in many parts of the world, we’re wishing learners, educators and administrators a successful start. Thank you to our employees for sharing a glimpse of their own back-to-school moments with us! #BackToSchool #CareerReadiness #CompanyCulture

Should organizations rethink how they're using AI? Rather than layering AI onto existing processes, organizations have an opportunity to use it to rethink workflows and decision-making. "AI may accelerate the work. But reimagining the work is what creates transformation," writes our CDO Darren Person wrote in his latest Fast Company article. What separates organizations that are truly creating value with AI from those simply adopting the latest technology? In our latest blog, Darren Person, Chief Product & Digital Officer at Cengage, shares a candid look at what we’ve learned as AI has moved from experimentation to an increasingly integral part of how our teams work. Today, thousands of Cengage employees are actively using AI, with nearly 90% adoption among enabled users. But adoption alone isn’t the goal. The bigger opportunity is to rethink how work gets done, and that requires the right infrastructure, governance, and culture to give people the confidence to experiment, learn, and turn AI into meaningful business value. As Darren puts it, organizations have a choice: use AI to build “faster horses” or invest in “better roads” that enable entirely new ways of working. That distinction is becoming increasingly important for leaders across industries. Read our recent blog to learn more from Darren about our AI journey and building an organization that is ready for what comes next: https://bit.ly/4x4zOYr #AI #FutureOfWork #Innovation

📢 Today, we're announcing a major expansion of AI across Cengage Higher Education learning platforms, bringing trusted, course-based AI to more educators and learners than ever before. AI is reshaping the workforce, but career readiness requires more than knowing how to use new technology. It also depends on critical thinking, communication, sound judgment and problem-solving. That's why we've designed AI to strengthen learning, not shortcut it. This fall: 🤖 Student Assistant and Instructor Assistant will be available across more than 800 Higher Education products. 👷♀️ New AI-powered learning activities and AI literacy resources give students authentic opportunities to practice real-world skills. 📊 Integrated coaching, learning and assessment tools provide instructors with deeper insights to better support every learner. By combining trusted content, proven pedagogy and thoughtfully integrated AI, we're helping institutions prepare students for success in an increasingly AI-enabled world. We're excited to share this behind-the-scenes look at the creativity, teamwork and problem-solving that goes into developing learning materials. Recently, our Creative Media Design and Academic Design teams collaborated on video productions for Look, 2nd Edition—one of our English Language Learning (ELL) programs that helps young learners build English language skills through authentic stories, global topics and engaging multimedia experiences. From directing live-action scenes to planning how animation will extend each story, every detail is designed with one goal in mind: creating learning experiences that spark curiosity and help students connect with language in meaningful ways. It takes collaboration across producers, designers, content developers and creative teams to turn an educational vision into engaging content that learners around the world will experience in the classroom. We're proud of the talent and collaboration that make projects like these possible, and we can't wait for educators and students to experience the finished videos. Special thank to Adam Abelson, Nadine Ballard, Kristen Keating, Macy Lawrence, Takeyce Walter, Cabin 3 Media and DGA Productions, Inc. #EdTech #EnglishLanguageLearning #ContentCreation
