A few highlights from AEP Drone Days in Delaware, Ohio! 🚁⚡ A big thank you to Matt Shellenberger, P.E. and the AEP Ohio team for bringing together utilities, drone manufacturers, technology providers, and pilots for two days of learning, collaboration, and hands-on flight demonstrations. It was great to hear Patrick Rackley share how AEP Texas is advancing its drone inspection program, with Buzz Solutions Director of Solutions Brandon Bozarth presenting alongside him to discuss how AI is helping transform inspection workflows. We also enjoyed seeing innovative technology in action, including Arcsky's Xplorer drone, watching attendees train with Drone U and seeing our very own Bjorn Asher with Blake from Flyability the Elios 3 through its paces. And thanks to Skydio and RIEGL for keeping everyone fueled with lunch while the conversations continued. Events like Drone Days are a reminder that innovation happens when utilities, technology providers, and industry partners come together to share ideas and solve real-world challenges. Thanks to everyone who made it such a great event. We’re already looking forward to the next one. Want more videos like these? “Are you going to train the models with my data?” It’s one of the biggest cybersecurity questions utilities are asking as they adopt AI. In the newest episode of 𝗕𝘂𝘇𝘇 & 𝗕𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱, Buzz Solutions Director of Solutions Brandon Bozarth sits down with Senior Solutions Engineer Jonathan Day to break down what utilities should know about cybersecurity, cloud security and how data is handled when working with AI. They also dig into an important distinction that can get lost in the broader AI conversation: computer vision models aren’t the same as LLMs. Watch the full episode of 𝗕𝘂𝘇𝘇 & 𝗕𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱, available now on YouTube and your favorite podcast platform. 📺 YouTube: https://lnkd.in/gT2WPk68 🎙️ Spotify: https://lnkd.in/gXVmHCvE 🍏 Apple Podcast: https://lnkd.in/gyHNe8hF #Cybersecurity #LLMs #AI #ComputerVision

Here’s an enlightening T&D World article by Buzz CEO Kaitlyn Albertoli about the importance of GIS in modern utility inspections. Many US utilities are using proactive asset management to drive big reliability gains. To scale their inspection programs they highlight new drone image capture technologies, thermal cameras, and AI-enabled analysis software. But, there is an essential underlying framework that makes it all work - GIS. Integrating GIS with inspection workflows offers several valuable benefits: ⚡ Improved condition-based asset management but identifying class problems and condition trends by geolocation ⚡ Increased scheduling efficiency by understanding the proximity of work orders in the queue ⚡ Broader sharing of data / less data siloes by using GIS as a central hub ⚡ Using GIS to maintain the utility’s System of Record Don’t miss this 6-minute read to learn how GIS structures data for meaningful action! One of the first questions utilities ask when evaluating AI solutions is: "How much work is this going to create for our IT team?" In this clip from our latest episode of 𝗕𝘂𝘇𝘇 & 𝗕𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱, host Nicole Marie Estevez De Jesus, Jr. Marketing Associate at Buzz Solutions, asks Richard Mejia, Lead PMO at Buzz Solutions, about the level of IT involvement required to get an AI implementation off the ground. The reality is often much simpler than organizations expect. If concerns around internal resources have kept your organization from exploring AI, this is a conversation worth hearing. 🎥 Watch the full episode on YouTube: https://lnkd.in/guJy3bcW 🎧 Listen on Spotify: https://lnkd.in/grFhXhGt What's been your experience with introducing new technology into utility environments? When it comes to utility wildfire risk, the question is no longer just: 𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗲? Increasingly, it's also: 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝗶𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗶𝘁? In a new POWER magazine article, Buzz Solutions CEO Kaitlyn Albertoli explores why wildfire liability is becoming a data problem, not just a legal one. Utilities are increasingly using visual inspections and AI-enabled analysis to identify potential risks before they lead to dangerous outages, while creating a historical record of inspections and asset conditions over time. For utility teams focused on wildfire risk mitigation, it's an important look at how better data can support both prevention and accountability.
