Pinch me, I’m a Bufferoo! I’m thrilled to share that I’ve joined Buffer full-time as a Marketing and Brand Designer. This one has been a long time coming. I first applied to Buffer eight years ago, and then again a few years later. Neither worked out, but I never stopped following along. For the past 11 months, I’ve been freelancing with the Marketing team, which turned out to be the longest and most fun job interview ever. What’s kept me a fan all these years is how Buffer does things: openly, kindly, and with a lot of care for the people on both sides of the product. Getting to shape how that shows up visually, from the posts in your feed to the merch in your hands, is a dream brief. A big thank you to Hailley Griffis, Simon Heaton, Carolyn Kopprasch and Sofia Toso for making the whole process feel so warm and seamless, and to the Marketing team Kate Baldrey, Kirsti Lang, Tamilore Oladipo and Sabreen Haziq for these past 11 months of fun. Thanks also to my former CEO Melissa Moody for the amazing mentorship along the way! Can’t wait for what’s ahead 💚
Your analytics can already tell you what’s working for you on social — what if you plugged them directly into your AI tool? Our Director of Content + Comms, Hailley Griffis, built an AI social media coach from her own Buffer data — and Senior Creator Kirsti Lang put it to the test. Here, Kirsti breaks down exactly how to create your own version. Here's the quick-start guide: → Get your data. Export a CSV from Buffer Insights, or connect Buffer to Claude (or any AI tool via the Buffer MCP). → Narrow it down. Pick 3–4 things you want to know, like pillars, format, and hooks. → Tell it your goal and ask it to coach you. → Save it as a project or scheduled task, and it’s there whenever you have a question. 📖 Get all the prompts right here: https://lnkd.in/eHNdiPUF 🎬 Or, watch the full step-by-step guide on YouTube: https://lnkd.in/e8y3gqgF

Buffer stopped writing status updates. Not because someone banned them. That is one of the things Kateryna Porshnieva, Head of Engineering Operations at Buffer, walks through in the first episode of Less Work, my new show about the busywork AI actually removes. What changed inside Buffer's engineering, product, and design teams: → How engineering handoff is disappearing → How the team prototypes together in code → Why quarterly planning was too long a horizon We unpack how Buffer has tamed agents. Unlocked potential & lots more! Full episode now available: https://lnkd.in/e2zwggMv

We're giving away 10% of one month's profit at Buffer to people who build with our API. 👀 Our first build contest is open for registration, and the prize pool is $25,600. That's $1,600 each for up to 16 winners. 16 winners because Buffer is about to turn 16, and this felt like a fitting way to celebrate with the community that's grown alongside us. We've shared profit with our team for years. Extending a percentage of it to the community building on Buffer feels like a natural next step. Building my own projects on the API has opened up so many paths for me, including hosting social posts and metrics on my own website. I can't wait to see what our community creates. Register here: www.buffer.com/api/commit (And yes, I'm legally required to say terms and conditions apply, so give those a read if you enter!)

This week marks my one year at Buffer. The news that I’d join the team landed while I was honeymooning in Mongolia. I still remember being so nervous about spending days without cell network, in case Simon Heaton or the team wanted to chat with me again and I’d miss it. The moment I could connect to my inbox, I was overwhelmed with positive emotions. I also couldn’t believe Bufferoos I’d chatted with took the time to all congratulate me (!!?? sign number gazillion of a great culture). Joining Buffer has been one of the best decisions ever. Buffer has been a model for me since I started working in Marketing, and I honestly can’t stop feeling grateful that now I get to work there and drive impact. Reflecting on the last 12 months, we have never been in a better position. All our metrics are showing green, and we’re on track to have the best month in years. On a personal note, I was fortunate to lead several key projects. While it’s cliché to say that AI has been reshuffling my role, it’s also very true. Re-learning how to work with it has been challenging but highly rewarding. Navigating an ever-changing scope and way of working has been made easier thanks to being surrounded by Bufferoos and our culture of transparency. Now, on to the next 12 months, which will be even better!
The build window for Buffer Commit, our first build contest, kicks off on October 28! If you're a builder in our community taking part in Buffer Commit, join us on Tuesday, October 27, from 11 AM to 12 PM ET for a live Q&A. Our Founder CEO, Joel Gascoigne, will share the vision behind Buffer Commit and what we hope to build alongside our developer community. Then Justina Petraitytė, Senior Developer Advocate, and Sabreen Haziq, Senior Brand and Community Manager, will walk through how judging works, the prizes, and how to get involved with the community, before we open it up for your questions. Whether you're starting something new or extending an existing project, come with your burning questions! We're happy to answer them all. Can't make it live? Register anyway, and we'll share the recording afterward. Register now → https://lnkd.in/ekWxwzqt

I'm not one to romanticize work. In fact, I've got some qualms with the whole laboring-under-capitalism concept (rant available upon request). But there is one company that changed the course of my life. Buffer literally showed me the world, through incredible travel and an international team where I built enduring friendships on nearly every continent. It taught me how to live my values in good times and hard times. It fundamentally tilted my work ethic toward transparency and building in public. It helped me build a growth mindset. It gave me the opportunity (and trust!) to switch careers mid-stream and grow into my life's work in People. It was the best job I ever had. And nearly 6 years ago, I left it. There was no conflict in the departure. I had been there 7 years, and on some level I had intuited that leaving was what you were "supposed to do" after that long. I was also curious to experience different company cultures, industries, scales, and outcomes. In the years that followed I got the education I was looking for, plus lots I didn't bargain for. I'm grateful for it all. But some companies stick with you. So when Joel Gascoigne and I reconnected, I jumped at the chance to bring all the skills I've acquired back to the place that first believed in my People potential. Now I'm on my second week at Buffer, for the second time, as the company's new VP of People and first "boomerang" employee. Everything feels new and old at the same time, like riding a familiar bicycle that got a jetpack upgrade. I feel super lucky. This company and its people have made my life undeniably better and richer and more joyful. And somehow, once again, we've only just begun. I can't wait to do it all again.
