About us
Brain Injury Services helps children and adults with a brain injury build the skills and confidence they need to lead a fulfilling and productive life. The organization was the first community-based brain injury case management program of its kind in Virginia. It was instrumental in guiding other communities across the Commonwealth that utilize this model program. In 2002, Brain Injury Services was awarded a Commonwealth Neurotrauma Initiative Grant to establish the first pediatric brain injury case management program. The organization now serves all of Northern Virginia, Fredericksburg, and surrounding Counties, including Culpeper and Fauquier. It added specialized programs over the years, including day programs, supported living services, supported employment, volunteer programs, PALS, Speakers Bureau, therapeutic groups, Assistive Technology, "Money Follows the Person" coordination, and other services.

Great news for the brain injury community! The U.S. House of Representatives has unanimously passed the bipartisan Traumatic Brain Injury Reauthorization Act. The legislation would reauthorize critical federal programs supporting brain injury research, surveillance, prevention, rehabilitation, advocacy, and services through 2030. This important milestone reflects years of dedicated advocacy by individuals living with brain injury, families, professionals, and organizations across the country. The bill now moves to the Senate—and our work is not finished. Brain Injury Services joins the National Association of State Head Injury Administrators, the Brain Injury Association of America, the Brain Injury Association of Virginia, and advocates nationwide in urging Congress to move this legislation forward. Thank you to everyone who has raised their voice for the brain injury community. We will continue advocating until the TBI Reauthorization Act reaches the President’s desk. You can find the bill here: https://lnkd.in/etC-pEUq Read the press release from Congressman Frank Pallone Jr: https://lnkd.in/e3w7J2Fh
