Designed for children aged 10–18 in Palghar, this summer camp served as a bridge between preserving heritage and embracing modern self-expression, blending traditional disciplines like Warli painting, Gond art, and Chitrakathi storytelling with contemporary mediums like rap, photography, and filmmaking. Their creativity was beautifully showcased on performance day, where younger students stayed true to the agricultural roots of the traditional Tarpa folk dance, while the older participants pushed boundaries by fusing the classic steps with modern rap to voice critical social messages on environmental conservation, deforestation, and river pollution. ✨ 💚 Slam Out Loud

ABF is proud to partner with TYCIA Foundation to pioneer a Gender-Transformative Rehabilitation Curriculum that directly engages with men incarcerated for violence against women and attempts to address the root causes of gender-based violence where it matters the most. This collaboration brings together a shared belief: that women’s realities deserve to be heard with care. In a landscape where so many conversations around mental health still fail to reflect the complexity of women’s everyday lives, this campaign aims to create space for real stories. We invite women in Mumbai to be part of this journey and share a part of their lived experience on camera. High above the bustle of McLeodGanj, in the quiet hills of Dharamkot, we recently went on a field visit to our partner, Kranti. This is a space that is as much a revolution as it is a school. For 15 years, Kranti has been rewriting the scripts for daughters of sex workers and today, the circle is closing. Many of those very students, having travelled the world for their education, have returned to lead. It is now a school for daughters of sex workers, run by daughters of sex workers. Our first morning began with an open reflection and sharing session. Having just returned from a month-long educational trip, the Krantikaris and the entire group shared introductions based on their feelings and emotions at that moment. There was laughter, there were tears and there was the freedom to simply be. In this space, you could open up or stay silent; both were honoured. During our visit, we sat down with two Krantikaris to hear their stories. One spoke about her journey from a childhood in a red-light area to international classrooms and how that path eventually led her back to Dharamkot. She spoke about her transition into a leadership role at the school, where she now uses her own lived experience to design programs and support the next generation of students. Another spoke about the role of the arts and music we witnessed throughout the day. She explained that these are not merely hobbies but essential tools for healing and advocacy. Between walls laden with books and memories, we saw a community powered by a Krantikari attitude. From sharing a meal in their community kitchen to witnessing a powerful street play on the realities they navigate, the message was clear: agency isn't given; it’s reclaimed. Our Share a Joy initiative brought together over 915 children across Mumbai and the Palghar district to create intentional spaces for play, curiosity and meaningful connection. Spanning December 2025 and January 2026, the Ananya Birla Foundation focused on reaching children and youth in institutional environments where these moments of happiness are most needed.   For these young individuals, stepping outside of a daily routine is more than just a break – it is a vital way to foster emotional safety, resilience and a deep-seated sense of belonging.   In the Palghar district, the power of humour took center stage at Kalampedhi Primary School and Padghe Ashramshala. In partnership with the Clownselors Foundation, we witnessed 600 children transform their formal school environments into landscapes of laughter and release. Laughter became a shared language, enabling children to open up, participate fully and engage with one another without fear or hesitation.   The impact of experiential learning was equally profound during our exposure visits in Mumbai for the David Sassoon Industrial School and Chembur Children’s Home. At KidZania, children stepped into roles of independence – choosing professions, navigating job systems and exploring future aspirations with a newfound sense of feeling grown up. At water parks, we saw initial fears turn into bravery as older children naturally stepped up to guide and protect the younger ones – showing us that play is a natural way to build empathy and responsibility.   Share a Joy is about leaving lasting emotional imprints that extend far beyond a single day of fun. The initiative not only refreshed the children but also provided a vital emotional reset for the 50+ staff members and caregivers who participated alongside them.   As we move forward, the Ananya Birla Foundation remains committed to the belief that every child deserves the space to explore, to dream and to experience the transformative power of joy.
