Castelion is designing products for scaled production and affordability without compromising on capability. Simple in concept, but requires exceptionally difficult and complex engineering execution. Always comes back to the team. Special talent and leadership are required!
The U.S. does not have hypersonic capability at the necessary scale and at a cost the country can sustain. That's what Castelion is building and what the $1B Series C scales.
We are thrilled to announce that Hancen Yu has joined Altimeter as Senior Corporate Counsel! Hancen brings deep legal and transactional experience advising investment platforms and high-growth companies. His expertise in private financings, M&A, and other strategic transactions will help support Altimeter and our portfolio as we continue to grow. Welcome Hancen!

America is reindustrializing. Rebuilding our industrial capacity with AI and advanced manufacturing will define the next decade. Congratulations to Hadrian on its Series D. Pumped to continue partnering with Chris Power and the entire team as they build the AI-powered factories and manufacturing platform that will produce the next generation of defense, aerospace, and industrial systems.
Today, Hadrian is announcing our Series D: $1.37 billion in new capital at a $7.87 billion valuation to Reindustrialize America. Thank you to all our investors. WCM Investment Management, Washington Harbour Partners LP, Valor Equity Partners, 137 Ventures, and Baillie Gifford led the round. JPMorganChase's Strategic Investment Group acted as anchor co-lead, investing through the firm's Security and Resiliency Initiative. The round also included major participation by 1789 Capital, as well as participation from Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, Apollo Global Management, Inc., T. Rowe Price, Andreessen Horowitz, Founders Fund, Lux Capital, Altimeter, CapitalG, Construct Capital, and existing investors. This round confirms our belief in a few simple things: America needs to Reindustrialize, Physical AI is real, transforming the world of atoms matters 100x more than the world of bits, and, most importantly, that the New American Workforce is the center of everything we do. We're significantly increasing the equity stake of technicians at Hadrian. As the country reindustrializes a trillion dollars worth of capacity, we intend to build a company that works for everyone. It's been a big year, and there’s even more ahead. We launched F3 in Arizona, announced F4 in Alabama as a $2.4 billion public/private investment, and began work with the Army on depot operations at Red River in Texas. Factories as a Service is booming. Opus, our physical AI platform for manufacturing and supply chain autonomy, is being utilized across the Primes and Services to address the industry’s toughest challenges: legacy TDPs, digital twins, factory management, embedded automation and more. We’re growing rapidly. We've been building out new capabilities, and are moving quickly across autonomous welding, inspection, energetics, casting, forging, assembly & integration, electronics, additive, sheet metal, pipe & tube, NDT, and more. We're expanding internationally, with small teams across Australia, NATO, the UK, and Asian allies like the ROK and Japan. And we're expanding our footprint domestically too, with a new HQ in LA and an SF R&D hub to be announced. We’re partnering up with the best of the best. To scale across critical areas like Munitions, we're integrating the top advanced manufacturing startups and companies into Opus and Factories as a Service to ensure customers get the best solutions for their needs. Ten teaming agreements already signed with some of the most impressive companies in the space. All this is to say: it’s time to build. If you want to do the hardest work of your life, creating American jobs rather than destroying them, we need you: hadrian.co/careers

Castelion has earned trust and credibility by demonstrating technology that creates an asymmetric advantage and can be built at speed, cost, and scale. They’ve turned ambitious promises into flight-tested hardware and real production capacity for critical national security priorities. We believe they’re building one of the most important defense companies of this generation. Pumped to double down and proud to keep backing this exceptional team. 🇺🇸
Castelion is proud to announce our $1 billion Series C. We’re growing fast and our mission hasn't changed: build the weapons required to deter the next major war, affordably, rapidly, and at massive scale. This funding accelerates Blackbeard production, develops a longer-range strike system, and starts work on defensive systems. Thank you to JPMorganChase's Strategic Investment Group, Andreessen Horowitz, The Carlyle Group, Lightspeed, Lavrock Ventures, Altimeter, T. Rowe Price, General Catalyst, and #Interlagos for backing that work. https://lnkd.in/eZ_d9d8z
Eight months after Erik Kriessmann led Castelion’s Series B, Altimeter is pumped to deepen our commitment and continue our partnership with Bryon Hargis, Sean Pitt, Andrew Kreitz, CFA, and the entire Castelion team as they announce their $1B Series C at a $13B valuation. Castelion is building with a rare combination of speed, technical ambition, and manufacturing scale. In just a few years, the team has taken Blackbeard from a clean-sheet design to flight-tested hardware and a program of record, secured more than $500M in U.S. military contracts, and has begun building what is currently the largest dedicated hypersonic missile manufacturing facility in the country. We believe Castelion is building one of the most important defense companies of this generation and demonstrating what is possible when American engineering and manufacturing move with urgency. Designed in California. Built in New Mexico. Supplied by businesses across America.

Altimeter has been named one of America's Top Venture Capital Firms of 2026 by TIME and Statista. When lists such as these are released, it is a reminder to us. Everything they measure – the companies built, the markets created, the exits earned, starts with founders. It’s our greatest pleasure to work alongside and support them. To the community of founders and teams with whom we work, thank you! https://lnkd.in/e9NxbJyW
