This summer, I received the unbelievable opportunity to attend the Babson College Summer Study, hosted at the New England Innovation Academy (NEIA). This program was one of the most beneficial and rewarding experiences of my life, through the skills I developed, the projects I built, and the friends I've made along the way. From the very first day of this program, I was already surrounded by some of the most brilliant minds I've met. Becoming a part of a global community like this was amazing; and in turn, it helped push me to discover solutions to the challenges I faced in my own projects as well. However, a huge thank you is needed for my instructor, Professor Lisa Hellmuth Thomas, whose amazing teaching skills and leadership in the classroom truly changed the way I, if not the entire program, will look at entrepreneurship in our years to come. One of my favorite parts of the program was constructing a product with my team to help solve a United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (UNSDG). Going from just a rough sketch of a product, a hint of an idea, to the creation and pitch of #TumHome with my teammates was a great experience, which makes me feel more confident in my abilities to do something similar in the future. Natsuho Sugiyama, Rodrigo Aguilar, Abigail Wong, and Zena Xiao, thank you for being one of the best teams I have ever worked with. From the daily masterclasses, the trips to the Babson campus, the in-class lectures, and the hard work done, this program showed me just how important entrepreneurship is in today's world, and how its present in almost every aspect of our lives. Also, I would like to thank the Aikreate team who came to NEIA to teach us insightful ways on how to incorporate the ever-growing abilities of AI into a product, leading another team of mine to create #Sustainafarm. Without the great teachings of Mireia Torello, PhD and Marc Oliveras, PhD, my knowledge of how to create AI agents to help solve problems around the world would never have come to fruition. 🚀 Another Incredible Cohort of Future AI Leaders 🚀 We're proud to celebrate the completion of the second session of our Artificial Intelligence – A Responsible Approach program, delivered in partnership with Summer Springboard and supported by the vibrant innovation community of Æthos at the CIC (Cambridge Innovation Center). Over the past two weeks, students from diverse backgrounds came together to explore not only what artificial intelligence can do, but also what it should do—and the responsibility that comes with building the technologies shaping our future. Throughout the program, students: ✨ Discovered how AI systems learn from data and make decisions. 🧠 Examined the ethical challenges surrounding bias, privacy, transparency, and accountability. 💡 Designed and developed AI-driven solutions to address real-world problems. 🤝 Collaborated with peers, strengthened their communication skills, and learned to work as innovative teams. 🏙️ Connected with Cambridge’s entrepreneurial ecosystem through immersive experiences and interactions with innovators. What inspired us most was not the technology itself, but the thoughtful questions students asked, the creativity they demonstrated, and their commitment to using AI as a force for good. At Aikreate, we believe the future belongs to those who understand both the power and the responsibility of artificial intelligence. Our goal is to help students move beyond being AI users and become AI creators, innovators, and critical thinkers. In 1882, Nietzsche bought one of the first typewriters. A friend noticed his writing had changed. His prose had become more telegraphic, less argumentative. Nietzsche replied: "You are right. Our writing equipment takes part in the forming of our thoughts." If a typewriter could change how one of the greatest philosophers reasoned, what can a technology do that doesn't just change how we write, but generates the result of thinking for us? Students using AI often perform better during practice. But when the tool is removed, their learning may suffer. They solved more problems. They learned less. The good teacher is not less necessary in the age of AI. They are more necessary than ever. Socrates refused to write. He believed the alphabet would weaken memory and deep thinking. 2,500 years later, we are having the exact same conversation about AI. The question has never been about the technology. It has always been about what we decide to do with it. In his latest piece for Aikreate Insights, our Co-founder Marc Oliveras, PhD explores what cognitive delegation really means in the classroom, why the distinction between cognitive offloading and cognitive delegation matters, and what schools can do about it.
