This movie had everything you could want in a Western. An Indian attack that started with 15 Indians, 7 got shot and 13 are left at the end, a brutal fist fight where no one got hurt or cut, cowboys, after spending days in the dirt and dust has perfectly clean clothes, a wagon train just happens to bump into a cattle herd going the same direction and the widowed gal who befriends the trail boss in the hottest check in the west. In addition, not every western movie has a cattle herd roaming around the town streets at night. Everything you could want in a western...cattle stampede, Indian attack, a terrible rainstorm and of course the classic Hollywood gun fight. Everyone carried a gun (which didn't really happen) and a couple trail hands could shoot better than any national champion ever dreamed of.
If you can overlook these and some other flaws, it's really not bad. Just remember it's Hollywood, not reallitywood.

Holly-molly!!! I wouldn't write a review for this flop of a movie except that I noticed that 12 people actually rated this a 10. A 10! What caliber of people write these things?
I turned in on have way through (thank goodness I didn't waste any more time on it) took one look at the costuming and couldn't believe some director thought this depicted the old west. Oh my gosh, how bad can you get. There would be more realistic costumes at my daughter's 6th grade school play. Who ever made this movie should be so embarrassed. And shame on the actors who agreed to "act" in this turkey. I rated it as a 1 because I didn't see a 0 as an option. The only thing this this film did for me was give me the opportunity to rate this the lowest I have ever rated an movie. It's just so bad.

This movie had lots of pros and lots of cons.
Cons: Pretty much every "cowboy" wore a bed sheet around his neck for a scarf. I mean, they were GIANT.
The railroad station/hotel (out in the middle of absolutely nowhere) had every fancy piece of furniture and do-dad known man. And electric lights! Where that power was coming from is a real wonderment.
The population of the "town" appeared to be about 9. Yet a traveling wild west show decided to set up there. Not much money to be made there.
Glass bottles in this town seem to break very easily. It looked like if one were dropped on a pillow of goose down, it'd break.
It always makes for a good shootem-up western when there is a ton of ammo around. The people in this story could have supplied a cavalry division on the way to all an all out war. Nice to be able to just blast away, knowing there was at least a few thousand rounds around town somewhere.
Apparently, heading off to a distant city requires no more than a horse, saddle, bridle and your gun (and presumably a few thousand rounds of ammo) as that's what we see. No food, no cook pot, no a blanket, well, pretty much no preparations - period.
Pros: Other than those king-size bed sheet scarfs I mentioned, the costuming was period correct, dirty and appropriate worn.
Buildings looked right for the times.
Riders seemed to know how to ride horses. (something a lot of Hollywood cowboys don't do.) The music sounded haunting and carried the mood throughout the mood film.
The speech was slow, horses were ridden slow and the pace was slow.
Interesting story, strange characters. Maybe a little to much Yoakam in his signature hat, he's worn his entire career.
