I was watching this film again on IMAX for its 10 year re release and even today the film has the magical feeling that I got 10 years ago when I got out of the cinema. The crisp direction, the cast and the soundtrack - THE SOUNDTRACK by Hans Zimmer was what stood out in this film.
The cinematography as well is one of the best I have ever seen and also the sound design, which was too good where the space shuttle launch, the planet sounds, and the pin drop silence in the blackhole.
I felt watching it again in 2024 in the big screen made it even more special as I began to appreciate this film even more!

I was so hyped up for the movie Pushpa 2: The Rule, after the great prequel. However, I must say I was so disappointed watching this movie. I was actually very impressed with the first half but the second half post interval was just abysmal.
Allu Arjun shines as Pushpa Raj, with his mass scenes been presented the way fans wanted and I was happy to see the role once again. Rashmika Mandanna was also good, I must say her acting skills have improved over time. However, FaFa was a letdown, especially after the way they hyped up his role in Part 1, I was disappointed that an actor of such calibre was used in a foolish way.
The screenplay is the biggest culprit of this movie, especially in the second half, where I personally lost my interest. This was a movie with a lot of potential, but it was completely wasted.
Overall a disappointing film, a 5/10 is my review. Despite a good first half, the screenplay just got derailed and ended in a very lazy way.

Recently got to watch Aadukalam, as I was introduced to Vetri Maaran's way of filmmaking in the year 2018 with Vada Chennai. Aadukalam is one of the finest movies I have ever seen and even in the year 2024, this film has aged very well.
The plot is very simple, with the main thing in focus being ego clashes of individuals, especially when an experienced person faces threats from an upcoming talent. This was shown very well and the direction and storytelling is top notch.
Casting wise, Dhanush excelled as Karuppu, while the supporting cast - Kishore as Durai, Jayapalan as Pettaikaaran, Naren as Rathinaswamy and Taapsee as Irene were also great in their roles. There were many other characters, who did their part exceptionally well.
The directorial brilliance of Vetri Maaran is clearly visible here as his story telling is brilliant and the way he writes his characters - a master class for all filmmakers.
Even with G V Prakash's music - Yathe Yathe and Ayyayyo were stand outs.
Overall a great watch and highly recommended.
