See No Evil, Hear No Evil (1989)
See No Evil, Hear No Evil - it's funny!
See No Evil, Hear No Evil is a very funny movie! Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor are at their very best in this movie and even though it was not as popular or such a box office success as The Silver Streak or Stir Crazy were, I would argue that this movie is still the funniest movie they ever did together.
Pryor plays a blind man with gambling debts who doesn't want to admit he is blind or needs help and Wilder plays a convenience store owner who doesn't want people to know he is deaf. Wilder ends up hiring Pryor to work in his store and through a series of events outside their control they end up framed for a murder and have to go on the run.
Also Kevin Spacey is one of the villains in this movie, doing a British accent.
Butch Patterson: Private Dick (1999)
Blah
This show wasn't very funny. I see what they were trying to do but they didn't pull it off very well. It was still better than most of the other shows you would see on the comedy network but that doesn't make it good. I think the show deserves a better rating than the 2.0 out of 10.0 it has on IMDb right now but it still should only be about a 4.0, which is I think generous. The show was put together well and looked professional but the characters were the kind of same stock characters for film noire parodies that you have seen before and seen done better. The show didn't really make me laugh much but I appreciate what they tried to do and at least they were doing interesting stories. The people who did this are the same people who did Kevin Spencer which I think was a pretty good show.
Package Deal (2013)
Package Deal's Not Funny
Package Deal is a really bad show. Say what you want about Satisfaction, it was not a great show and the characters were not very good or the actors but it is still a million times better than Package Deal. Package Deal is really bad, it is not ever funny and the actors are terrible. Satisfaction didn't have killer actors either but at least the idea behind it and some jokes were pretty funny, it was not a predictable and horrible show like Package Deal. I wish Harland Williams would get off this show because I really liked him and he could and should do much better than this. The bottom line is Package Deal's not funny, avoid it if you have a sense of humor.
Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964)
The Best!
"Doctor Strangelove or How I Learned To Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb" is the best comedy movie I think that has ever been made. Stanley Kubrick is a genius and he deserved to win at least one academy awards for this movie. Speaking of which Peter Sellers is so brilliant in this in every one of his roles, he should have got an academy award for sure, he earned the award with any one of those parts and he unbelievably played three of them in the same movie, it really is amazing! "Doctor Strangelove or How I Learned To Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb" is known as a dark comedy and is definitely the #1 movie of all time in that category but speaking of just comedy in general I think it still stands out as the best of all time, maybe the only comparison could be Monty Python's best work.
Satisfaction (2013)
O'k
This show was OK. There were a lot of funny parts to it with jokes that actually made me laugh sometimes. I really thought it would have benefited from a better cast. Not to say these people are horrible actors or anything they just didn't seem right. Three people in their 30 somethings living together in one apartment especially when one of them is a couple seems pretty bizarre and hard to swallow. Why would they do that? Also so many of the actors were playing characters that were deliberately annoying which was a big mistake because why does anyone want to watch people who are annoying? The worst cases were Gary the neighbor and the sports bar owner who were both terrible. I wish this had more time to try to iron out the problems. But this is Canadian TV so everything gets canceled right away. This show wasn't very good but it was not very bad either, for example it was way better than Package Deal which is still on the air.
