I had been waiting quite a while for this remake, and to say I was disappointed is an understatement. Some of the casting was completely wrong. Especially Lloyd, Trashcan Man, and Tom. This has always been my favorite book ever, and all the years they had to improve on the hokey ness of the original miniseries seems to have been wasted. I had a hard time making it through this. The original is better in every sense.

For anyone that is a fan of the book, don't waste your time. You will be extremely disappointed.

The only high points to me were the choices of actors playing Flagg and Harold Lauder.

Maybe I made a bad choice in watching the original and the remake back to back.

George C. Scott was simply amazing in this film. Great portrayal of Patton. This movie still holds up after 52 years. The cast was great. The scenery and battle scenes were amazing. I highly recommend this film.

Boring movie. With bad 80's video game graphics. Carly Pope is the only reason to watch this. But even she can't pull this movie out of the trash heap. This is the kind of movie you buy at the dollar tree.
