I hate to admit it, but Tubi finally made a decent movie! I usually avoid anything by the company out of principle, but after reading the reviews for this one I decided to see what all the fuss was about, and why everyone was having toddler tantrums over the ending. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by the movie, and it really goes to show that even the worse production companies get it right once in a while.
The movie starts off looking like your basic "family on vacation meets redneck freaks" horror film, but it turns that on its head early on. The rest of the film is not what anyone would expect, and made the film enjoyable, entertaining and very well made. The acting, the script, even the cinematography was top notch, and it all culminated into one of the best endings in a horror film in recent memory. I really appreciate when horror films don't take the safe route to appease the low IQ viewer with fragile sensibilities, and this film does that and it is made much better because of it.
Ignore all of the reviews about how the ending should be different or that the movie was ruined because of it. Those are not horror fans. Real horror fans know that things don't always end up how we expect or how we'd like them to, and that's what makes the genre as great as it is. Don't like it? Go watch a romcom or some other nonsense. Leave these movies for those of us that truly appreciate the genre!

I don't even know how to properly review this abomination of a film. How can I properly convey just how dreadful it is, and how it defiles every single element that makes for an enjoyable movie? I just don't even understand how movies like this actually get made, and why anyone funds them.
It's bad enough that found-footage seems to be the haven for broke and talentless auteurs to make vanity projects for as little money as possible, but this has to be up there with the very worst the sub-genre has to offer. With FF movies, at the very least you are guaranteed believable acting, as many people just play themselves or versions of themselves, which often adds to the (albeit, fake) authenticity. But for a movie with a cast of less than 5 people, everyone was absolutely horrendous, the two male leads were just bad and had very weak scene presence, and nothing about the movie seemed like it was given any actual creative consideration. The script was bad, the Egyptian motif looked cheaply made and poorly designed, and the film itself was only an hour and 10 minutes, but not a single horror element occurred until the last 20 minutes of the film, and only lasted for 10 minutes.
I paid $3 for this and I still felt jipped. I wasn't expecting a best picture Oscar nominee, but I was at least hoping I'd be entertained. Instead, I'm writing this review at the credits roll, not caring about anything else that's transpiring on the screen. It was all just so utterly abhorrent, I am going to make it mission to avoid anything made by anyone responsible for this movie to prevent any future disappointment.
An hour of yapping to only be given 10 minutes of the absolute worse horror I have seen in decades left a very sour taste in my mouth. I cannot recommend this film to anyone, not even as a goof. Please stay as far away from it as possible and do not waste your time on it like I did.

Here's a quick breakdown of this movie;
1. Starts up with needless sexual scene that features gratuiotous female nudity. Seemed like an excuse for a perverted director to see an actress naked because the scene was really unnecessary and a horrible way to start a movie. I'm no prude, but this type of perverted sexual stuff does not belong in legitimate film. Leave that smut for pornhub.
2. Man walks, no dialogue, through wrecked locations, having flashbacks with horrible dialogue straight out of a really bad C-movie. Seriously, whoever wrote the script should really reconsider his or her craft because that was an atrocity.
3. Man meets villain, more gratuitous sexual nonsense that really ruined what very little this movie had going for it.
END
Seriously, even at an hour and minute this movie seemed way too long and wore out its stay way before the credits roled. It was filled with bizarre visuals, needlessly implement sexual nonsense, and the story was barebones and limited, with dialogue that was laughable at best. The ONLY saving grace was the cinematography and the camera work, which weren't dreadful, and some of the locations really had a post-apocalyptic look to them. Other than that, this is a waste of an hour, and I'll be damned if I am going to allow anyone else to misuse their time like I did.
DO NOT WATCH THIS MOVIE.
