A guy records old people speak about growing up in kibbutz with all children being raised outside the family. Meanwhile we see recordings of children in kibbutz. There is nothing else to this. I have seen this story told with more details and more coherent in many other books and documentaries. This is extremely lazy and they should have done more with it. Also, many clips we are shown are totally random with no relation to the narration at all. Just random events that re not even explained. Are they important? Maybe?
Historical accuracy: 8.
Acting: 3.
Dialogue: 5.
Camera work: 5.
Editing: 6.
Budget: 6.
Story: 6.
Theme: 7.
Pure entertainment factor: 5.
Pacing: 5.
Suspension of disbelief: 4.
Non-cringe factor: 4.
Lack of flashbacks: 10.
Special effects: 5.
Video quality: 3.
History wise it follows the events pretty closely until we get to the shootout that seems nearly fictional for a few minutes. It happened a similar way yet a few events were a tad different which goes to show how difficult these sequences are to shoot. I watched the new movie too which was a bit weird with a bunch of random ballet scenes everywhere. Yet the new movie had better action and better tension. And 100 times better acting. This one feels like a 1970's product with ugly colors, ugly video quality, cheap action, and most actors are horrid. This one is definitely a closer look at the true story and you get more details presented too. Yet the overall budget and quality has aged horribly.
