Nothing makes sense, the acting, the plot, the motivation for the murder, how Father Brown figures it out. Someone who was in charge of making sure this episode followed a logical flow ate an opium cake instead. The only redeeming quality of this episode is that it is so bizarre to watch, that you have to watch it. You can't look away, like a bad car accident. There's sort of a humor to it, even though I think it's mostly unintentional. Definitely recommend watching it while eating an opium infused cake, or maybe at a "so bad it's good" viewing with friends and alcohol. Embrace your inner hedonist, but first look up what that actually means because no one who watched this episode did that's for sure.
