Seen on June 3, 2023 (most of the review is written based on the Latin dubbing of it, because of that, I'm from Argentina).

I saw it at the cinema last weekend, and I can only say one thing, it's beautiful... it's that, god, it's great, like, with the style and quality of the animation Sony keeps surprising me more and more, apart from that, the styles, my god, there's a mixture of so many between the multiverse and the multiple realities of Spidey that it made me a little dizzy, but still, it looks beautiful.

Aside from the humor, which I actually found quite funny in certain parts, and aside from another aspect, which is quite criticized, yeah, I'm talking about the dubbing... obviously I reject the idea that most of the dubbing is formed by Startalents from YT, Twitch, Tik Tok and all that, but in my honest opinion, yes, obviously I noticed a certain change, and I disliked some voices, but in itself the dubbing is not bad, it's like it just happened as the movie progressed. I didn't like Juan Guarnizo's voice too much, Pipe Punk's a little bit yes, and I had even read that the youtuber Jugando con Natalia (Juan Manuel Paradiso) had participated in the Latin dubbing, if you can tell me which character he dubbed, I would be very grateful, even being the most attentive, I still can't figure out which character he dubbed his voice to.

Besides, I have to admit that I didn't watch "Into the Spider-Verse", only several clips, although I still managed to understand the movie and the story.

God, when I saw the ending I was left with all the intrigue in the world, and I was like well, let's wait until next year when they release part 2, there's no other way...

A film too controversial for what it ended up generating in its theatrical release, being a real criticism, not only to society in several ways, but to the Serbian film industry in general, which lacked importance and "originality" in those years, something that in the director Srdjan Spasojevic changed in 2010 with the film, or well, obviously called A Serbian Film, or A Serbian Film in Spanish-speaking territory, which ended up being banned in many, many countries, even in the United States, country for which they made a "censored" version, at least so that the film can be released with an NC-17 rating (the highest in the U. S.). And why did this happen, some of you may ask? Well... The film itself is about Milos (Srdjan Todorovic) who, with the context that in those years communism was still rife in Serbia, is a porn ex-actor to whom surviving with his family itself ends up being a very painful and stressful experience in itself. One day, a former colleague of his introduces him to Vukmir, a filmmaker a bit suspicious, but who proposes Milos to star in a film like in the old days to save him from misery, something for which, completely ignoring the film, he ends up indirectly signing a "pact with the devil" from which it will be difficult for him to get rid of.

The same itself is something that is complex to summarize in certain scenes, due to how sick they are, although I could only say that Vukmir in certain parts wants to force Milos to do illicit things with minors, or even with a newborn, something that Vukmir tells him is the future of pornographic entertainment, and something that, for more than logical reasons, Milos ends up deeply rejecting, and it was more than anything the newborn scene that really caused the most controversy among all the others, despite the fact that in it obviously not everything is shown in great detail, although it is obviously horrifying just the fact of what we are given to understand, along with quite a few disturbing sounds present in the scene.

There are many countries in which the film and its director were investigated by the law, due to too many accusations received towards the director, and its extreme physical, verbal and psychological violence, so obviously we are not talking about a movie that a family would go to see on a Saturday afternoon at the movies like Disney movies for example. Anyway, in my case I was able to see the movie through a pirate site, since it is really difficult to get it in a physical format, and speaking of my experience I could easily say that the impact that certain scenes should generate, never generated anything in me, because of how used I am to see certain scenes with extreme violence or a lot of blood, because well, I was always an aspiring doctor myself, although I have to admit that the baby scene really shocked me, apart from certain scenes like the final scene that, obviously, I will not describe to avoid spoilers for those who want to see it.

Anyway, you have to admit that A Serbian Film is a sick film from any point of view, but it also dared to do what many films don't, which was to really tell the reality of the world in the sense of what certain people can really do to escape from misery, something that makes it, as I said before, a hidden criticism of society, and a sick and quite crude representation of that world that many prefer not to get into for logical reasons, such as taking 100% care of their mental health.

An interesting story but poorly staged, with bland and forced dialogues, besides being a slow and dense film that ends up turning the hour and a half that lasts into something that seems eternal. The interpretations themselves make it seem that the film itself is going to be something bearable or even interesting, as I said at the beginning with its story, but no, it is not a film of the "realistic" genre, it is a poorly made drama and little else, do not be confused.

I saw it for CineAr on a night when I was very bored and had nothing to do, although I would have preferred to sleep, but well, I only highlight it for its story and little else, apart from its performances, which came to stand out quite a bit in certain parts.
